I am going for a PR in the 5k distance.

My current one is 20:54 from may of 2010

My time on my last race, July 4th , was 21:31, this is my favorite course

I cut 26sec off of my prior race in june.

My next race is in 4 weeks on my favorite course again.

So I am pretty confident that I can cut 37 seconds off.. at least somewhat confident.

My goal for the year is go under 20 minutes.

Does anyone else have some personal goals they would like to put out there in print so that they too feel obligated to not puss out?

I'd love to get my 3-mile mark under 18 minutes but so far my fastest mile is 6:22 with a steady decline after that. I finish up in the late 24 mark icon_sad.gif

I would like to be under 18 by the end of the year. I got to 18:27 but got injured and took May-June off to rest.

The times since then have been:
    20:40
    19:36
    19:16

So I might be back to under 19 by the next few races.

I'd like a 5k PR and a 1 mile PR at the end of the month when I hit the track for a big meet in Ohio. Not sure if that's at all realistic. Hoping it won't be as hot and humid there as it has been here.

    Personal bests:

    5k: 18:26
    1 mile: 5:03

Most recent times are: 5k: 19:39 and 1 mile: 5:30

    Good luck everyone!

Running the Portland Marathon in October. Hoping for 3:45:00, just finished Seattle Rock & Roll in 4:05 but it was my first with several factors that led to a slower time than I had hoped. I haven't done a 5K racing so don't know what my competitive PR is but during training my fastest 5K was 18:33.

No specific goals as such, but would like to get below twenty minutes for five kilometres.
Training for a half marathon later in the year.I`d like to be under one hour, thirty five minutes;one hour, thirty, would be very good.

You're certainly not the slowest now that I'm posting. icon_redface.gif

I don't think I'll see my 5K PR in again in this lifetime. It was 2004 — 18:15.

I need to set some reasonable goals and push toward them. Haven't raced this year at all so I'm not really sure where I stand, but perhaps by fall I can run 5K in 20:10 - 20:30 (?) I'm only up to about 30 miles a week now, and things usually start falling in place between 40-50 mpw, so I'm hoping for some gains this summer!

I am sure you will reach your current goals. You definitey are putting in the work and earning you sweat. icon_biggrin.gif

After a dismal last year I had began to settle for with being happy with Course Personal Records. But I now see that the PR is within my reach, I am really stoked.

and would still say that I am slower...lol

My PR in the 5K is about 15:50, but I have run faster in college in the middle of an 8K.
