Flattening the stomach...

    Okay, so I've always been a thin guy...but I was never in shape. With a 33-34 inch waste, I hired a personal trainer back in February to help me tone up, put on some mass (mainly in the arms, chest, legs...etc..), but I also wanted to shrink down my stomach/waist area to about a 32 inch waste...

    ...and it's not happening. My abs are VERY strong now, and I can tell that excess flab is leaving--every except my waist! What's that about? What can I do to make this flatten out?

    Suggestions on diet? Excercises...etc...

    Don't despair! But do be patient. No ab exercise is going to get rid of the fat around your middle--its apples and oranges. If you are buring off the fat then your ab muscles will eventually appear. The problem for us guys is that the stomach is one of the prime places the body likes to store fat. To compound the problem, you can't "spot reduce." When the body starts burning fat it does so pretty evenly so if your abs are where the most fat is those are the last muscles you're going to see. But it will happen!

    Try the vacuum exercise here on RJ. I have been doing it and it is GREAT. AND YOU CAN DO IT ANYTIME, ANYWHERE!!!! What's cooler than that?
