so I posted a thread a couple days ago talking about a guy that said he no longer felt comfortable working with me because he just found out i was gay. He hasnt come into work since that day...

so i asked my boss if he had heard why this guy hadnt come in, and he said no, so i told him why i thought he hadnt.

Suddenly, my day is spent in the store manager's office filling out and signing papers about the "incident". I dont have a problem with the guy, as he wasnt rude about it, but maybe i should be more upset. I mean if someone didnt want to work with me because of race, everyone would be peeved. what do you guys think?

I think sometimes saying nothing is a better approach than trying to reason with the ignorant and bigoted. Also realize that all the paperwork you filled out about "the incident" are to protect and document for the store and the management.....not for your "protection". If and when this fellow returns, I would stay clear of him, as I would expect that he will be fired and your name will be used as one of the excuses.......be careful and good luck. move to a more accepting city/environment......it helps, but doesn't guarantee, more tolerant co-workers........icon_cool.gif

they switched the schedules around. i no longer will be working with the guy, but he will be there for 1 more week. like i said, i dont really have a problem with him, but small town farm boys are ignorant, and one word can change EVERYTHING.
