Ive noticed alot of times in relationships you have one person that is usually more attractive or sexier than the other. In these types of situations I am wondering how the other partner should react when advances are made toward the "sexier" one?

I know some couples that say they are proud of their mate and dont care if the partner gets hit on or someone wants to sleep with them they view it as a compliment...others get really mad, defensive and almost blame their partner for the unwanted attention.

Why is this and how would you handle it?

We are two different types, I think. I've never been jealous if someone has expressed interest in the ball & chain.

This question is loaded! If I say I get looks I sound conceited, so I will say that my partner does get looks, especially from the thousands of "rice queens" that live in Toronto. I think he is sexy, especially his um "caboose". "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot could be his theme song.

I am not the jealous type and he is so if I do get looks I discretely ignore them. If I find a guy attractive I try not to be too obvious about it with my honey around.

IMO finding yourself the 'sexier' of the pair would not be indicative of a healthy relationship or at least not one based on what I would call a love relationship. I guess one could argue that point, but I think it would make him conceited. *shrug*

If I'm in love with a guy, a significant part of that is admittedly going to be attached to some things I adore about his looks. When love and physical attraction mix, for me, there's no other man (including myself) that I would rather have.

Even out of the relationship, I'm not going to compare.. my ex looked like a mix of Adam Levine(maroon 5) and Christopher Meloni. icon_eek.gif

I think this depends on whether or not one is a jealous lover. It's otherwise hogwash. Insecurity's maiden dance with vanity.

Well, this is hard to say.

I'm in a threesome. Marty, the lab, is lean and hot, and all the dogs sniff his butt. But Ethel has the prettier eyes (she's the beagle). I don't really mind when the doggies in the neighborhood hit on them, because hey, they're both neutered.

Will and I have an interesting time since its long distance. He knows I get hit on, it doesn't bother him.

One of his friends hit on me once, I told him about it.. .we have issues like that.. we always talk about it. He isn't possessive.. if he was we wouldn't still be involved.

My partner is 49 and average in every way. He gets extremely jealous, even angry when I'm admired by others. He is much better about it now, however, if he could have his way, I'd be dressed up like an Iranian woman.

we're both pretty hot, but we represent different types. and we both attract unwanted attention, but when it's me, someone has to tell me cause i never get it.icon_eek.gif i'm like "what's his problem?" and my friends are like, "duh..."
having said that, MANY times i've seen guys staring at my man, trying to talk to him or dance with him in a club. i'm not jealous (we'd never cheat) but i have told a few dudes to take a step back. yes, i have.icon_twisted.gif

My ex and I argued about this subject all the time. I was the better looking guy in the relationship and he would get upset when guys would look my way. I think it is more of a self esteem issues when people get jealous than anything else. Now if they were to come up to me while we were together that would be another story. But looking I see no big deal in that and nothing to get upset over.

I'll be self centered for a moment (not my usual state)... I get the looks. I only know this because when I first made way into the community I didn't understand how.. um, forward people can be.

To put it simply: I've swung punches when someone got touchy feely at a club. I was told I was responsable for the first bar brawl there.icon_twisted.gif I'm no longer allowed at Cobalt in DC any more. Oh well.

He gets looks from curry queens... I don't care. It's a compliment to me that he picked me over them.
