    Hi Guys,
I'm just wondering what dating websites people on here use?

I Use: gaydar, recon, manhunt, plenty of fish and okcupid. For me the best ones are manhunt, gaydar and recon (cos I love a bit of kink) ;-)

    What do you guys recommend?

Just as a preface my type as far as "search criteria" whether or not you can check a box or just judge based on the profile text is: relationship oriented, well-educated (at least a B.A. but preferably several more degrees above that,) polite, family-friendly, and near my age (22-30ish) ...

Plentyoffish - low quality and little diversity, mostly "hairdresser sorts"
Manhunt - nobody wants a relationship, and the ages represented are well north of my interest levels
Adam4Adam - nobody wants a relationship, and the ages represented are either way too young or way too old
OkCupid - some interesting friends have been made but no relationship material has ever developed from there
Cupidtino - absolutely nothing I am interested in there
Zoosk - trashy people, resembles adam4adam more than anything else
    Grindr - what a joke
Scruff - what an even bigger joke than Grindr

    Your mileage may vary.

I am not sure what is up with POF but I swear I did not find one person on that site who was even remotely attractive.

My thoughts exactly.. I was reading a forum post about how some guy is out at a party right now wearing a colored shirt to match a theme. Cute idea for the party, but the men posting I feel are a bit hopeless. Why are people living their lives through a computer? Social networking is really putting a damper on our abilities to communicate.

I know for a fact someone is going to be rude and point the finger at me and say, "Why are you on here then?"

I do come on here, but not every minute of everyday.. This is just another resource, not a lifestyle for me. Really men, get out there and show everyone what you got, rather than living a fantasy behind a computer screen!! icon_razz.gif

Gaydar-best all purpose, wide variety of guys and types;easy to use.
Recon- fetish, although very biased towards suits, leather, etc.
    Resourcesforbears-obviously for bears!
    BigMuscleBears-lots of big guys!
    Eurowoof-similar,huge choice of great guys.
    SilverDaddies-the older bears;young/older guys.
Cottaging-easy used website, plenty of fetish(cross dressing),lots of very local guys.
    Fabguys-similar.
Also use dating section of ClassicFm(a British classical music radio station)-for guys into the music;very exhaustive search engine, lots of professional types.

I guess it depends where you are. The guys on realjock seem to be more interested in debating, and posing, than actually hooking up. I'm in a more rural area, in Canada, and I've met all of the notches in my bedpost on gay.com. If you're into the masculine country boy types, it's a good place to look if you live in a place like Nebraska. The guys in the city on gay.com are just as fucked up as on any other chat site, but there are some treasures hiding there, like this french dancer that I met. But I digress. Gay.com. Check it out if you like genuine guys. No I don't work for the site.

    Like?

You realize there are gay clubs and athletic groups? find the groups in the local rag or google GLBT and city name.

I live in a rural area not big enough to have a gay bar but i can even find the gays hanging out at some of the local bars where they have dance music. I am currently trying to relocate to mpls. Example of groups there:

    2stepmsp.org
    www.nsgra.org
    www.outwoods.org
www.lavendermagazine.com - although a publication, they have a meet and greet

Hey guys, thanks for the thoughts.

I hope I didn't give the impression that I ONLY used websites to date. Lol. I have quite a healthy approach, I think- I've met guys to date at my gym, through other friends, through my uni and place of work. outdoor lads is a uk site for guys in to their sports ( a bit like real jock) but they organise events- camping, kayaking, climbing so I've been on a couple of those and a few dates have resulted.

There a couple of sites that I've not heard of that I will give ago.
    Cheers,
    David

icon_lol.gif Try OKCupid or the m4m Strictly Platonic section in Craigslist, or http://www.alphey.com/. PlentyofFish seems to be more for the older and/or introverted loner types.

I guess it depends really. The sites are what you make of them. I have used some of them but they were really unsuccessful to me. I think I'm just going to stick to try meeting guys in real life even if I am a little introverted. I mean, yeah it's harder and more challenging but it seems like less of a hassle then the online thing in my opinion haha.

Are there any new gay dating websites for gay single men?
    I don't care for manhunt.net at all.I'm only interested
in using free gay dating websites for gay single men.
