Shashank_Rosberg saidI am a Software Engineer.... Tomorrow, i would be completing my first year of professional life...
Lately, I have been seriously contemplating about moving to US.
Will i get a job for my qualification? I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science & Engineering.
You'll be thrown into the other thousands and thousands of software engineers looking for work. The important question is, are you any good?
I'm an employed software engineer. Many people that I graduated college with (also software engineers) do not have jobs. If you're good at what you do, you'll find work. If you're not good at what you do (rhetorical; assess yourself honestly), then you need to know someone to get you a job.
I have a CGPA of 7.0. I know C, C++, Java, C#.NET, Databases, ColdFusion, Web related technologies etc. I am good at programming. I feel i can do better.
All i lack(albeit now) is the experience. I only have 1 year of corporate experience. Planning to get an ACE(Adobe Certified Expert) certification in ColdFusion 9 and SCJP. Also have plans of obtaining a Masters degree from a good university in US. Looking for specialization in Programming Language Theory, Formal Methods, Compiler Design. Have to see how everything pans out.
