The GOP in Riverside CA wants to split California in 2.....North and South California.....split along political and economic lines.... And this cures the economy and creates jobs how?
    See the story.

looks more like an East/West division than a North/South. but leave it to Republicans to not know their directions.

Won't happen. It would be like giving California an additional two U.S. Senate seats.

Green_Panda saidHistorically, I thought you guys only added states in twos? Which would be the "other" new state?

    Puerto Rico!

But since that didn't happen I don't think this will, but if it does I'm moving to South California... that doesn't sound right icon_confused.gif

As far as two states at a time...we are doing it different this go.

We are dropping Texas (leaving 49 states) and California will split in two (taking us back to 50)

LOL. With the exception of Orange County and San Diego county, the rest is a wasteland of meth labs, hermits, and criminals on the run. This plan will never work because SD and OC will carry the weight of the other counties. Say hello to higher taxes and lower quality of service. Jeff Stone is a quack. I think this is a rather poor attempt to get Republicans with deep pockets to move to Riverside. A city that has an extremely high unemployment rate and foreclosed houses as far as the eye can see.

That was mostly during the pre-Civil War era, when a slave state would be admitted with a free state.
