What motivates me is knowing it is helping my body be healthier both physically and mentally, help my self-confidence, and make my body look more attractive.

Fear of rejection and a slightly perverted pleasure in seeing myself in mirrors.

OH yeah and I guess the "health benefits", though the link between looking hot and being healthy has never been proven)

The powerful and lasting enjoyment/feeling I get when I do it; a fitter, more toned/muscled physique;better health;meeting other guys;more confidence;a sense of wellbeing that comes from doing something I am good at.
My only regret is I left it late to start.

Fear that I will get fat, because I have. When I came out it was in the brochure that I had to go to a gym, It was right behind the 20% off coupon for the Golden Girls DVD collection.

Self-hatred is a good one and adoration / jealously over other better built guys.

heart disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer, neuropathy...and the deadly fear of being trapped in a fat body. those keep me going.

knowing I'm not getting any younger and I like it. It keeps my mind clear and when I can really immerse myself into it it's very zen.

    1. Looking at the men in my family they are all pear-shaped. Becaue they let themselves go! Vanity thy name is Kristoffer.LOL

    2. I like the way I look and feel after I workout, being that I still have the same body that I had while in my 20's and 30's is great!

    3. The alternative would be getting fat NO SIRRRRRR!

    4. Given that I wake up like clock-work every morning at 4:00am w/o the alarm clock. There is nothing else to do but go to the gym. LOL!

A stubborn refusal to be old and fat, and a desire to look great in the unlikely event that I one day meet the man of my dreams.
