It does not say where this occurred but ShortLine operates in part in NJ which has sexual orientation (and perceived sexual orientation) in its non-discrimination law for places of public accommodation (I wonder if that includes public transport).

Waiting for our first resident Uncle Tom, the hetero bootlicker, to show up and say something like... "they were probably acting gay and should have sucked it up and spit a couple of times before getting on the bus separately, then this wouldn't have happened."

The bus driver may have been homophobic, but this gay couples actions were way out of line.

I note that the State Trooper refused to make the gay couple move. And that the bus line President issued a letter of apology, with a promise to investigate and take "remedial action" as required. We need to follow this to see what actually transpires.

But still, not as bad as Rosa Parks. I'd be curious to learn more about this bus driver. What politics he supports, what TV news he watches (anyone wanna bet Teabagger and FOX News?).

And guys right here on RJ endorse this right-wing network of anti-gay hatred, while claiming to be gay themselves. It would be refreshing to hear them condemn this sort of thing, if their handlers will permit them.

Simply the idiotic actions of one person. The statement from the president of Hudson Transit Lines was very sensible and appropriate.

How can we support this gay couple? They were clearly out of line, holding hands like that and such. They might as well be fucking on the damn bus! Those gay bastards!

And here lies the problem. If you don't, in this example, like to touch or hold hands with your partner, spouse, bf, whatever, then don't. But you can not project that onto someone else. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them holding hands on the bus. And the audacity of the bus driver to call a state trooper for this is just ridiculous. I would want that state trooper out on the road doing what he is suppose to do, not educating this bus driver to the law.

another fuck witted christian "taking a stand for Jesus".

    Well he can suck it.

/I am prepared to bet money that this driver would not be identifying as a buddhist or atheist/

I always go to the back of the bus for the long haul (e.g. on tours in Europe). Sure, it's noisier (due to the engine) and a little more bumpy, but the leg room beats everything.

    BUT IT'S MY FREAKING CHOICE!!!

I applaud the trooper for telling the bus driver to move along. The bus line has apologized for the incident and says they're looking into it. Case closed.

Who said i was projecting? Im just stating my preference. Given todays society, i find it wiser to not overtly act gay in public. And besides, public display is not basis for love, and is shallow to set as a guage of such. Just my opinion

Are you talking about Fox News? I'm not sure Fox is a "network of anti-gay hatred". Perhaps individual personalities and talk show hosts might not be explicit LGBT allies, and some might be explicitly anti-gay.

Nor was Fox really referenced in the blog post, if I read it correctly.

Personally, I think the bus driver ought to be reprimanded and made to give a formal apology to Ari Gold and his partner at the very least, if not let go.
