Why Do White Guys Have Such Great Posture?

    Being astutely aware of body language, and the subtle communication it details, I've noticed that many white guys -- regardless of status -- often emply exceptional posture. Why is this?

    Although good posture is often commonly associated with the upper class, I've seen this trait present even amongst lower class white guys. Myself? Despite an affluent upbringing, I have to actively remind myself to sit straight and hold my shoulders back when I walk.

    Can someone please explain why so many white guys seem to have naturally fabulous posture?

    I for one think, white or otherwise, there's way too much posturing going on here.

    Why am I not surprised this is coming from The_Austonian.

    I remember a thread he started where he was looking to purchase some skin lightening cream.

    Posture = Dominance.

    Bad posture immediately sends people the signal that you are weak, that you are a loser. your posture is also your first impression.

    People who are shy or with low self confidence will tend to slouch, cross their arms, or walk with their palms open and forward, and elbows pointed backward.

    People with self confidence and a feeling of being "Alpha" walk straight up, with their butts slightly stuck out, walk with more "presence" chin up, chest out, elbows actually point out from the side with palms facing down and back (back of hand facing forward).

    I take a lot of notice of the mannerisms of different sorts of people. I actually have a lack in self confidence, a ton of anxiety (stems from childhood) and i continuously remind myself of proper posture mannerisms so that I can still give off the "alpha male" presence (which is hard enough being quite skinny)... But as I gain weight, it comes naturally.

    You would not believe how differently people treat you when you act like you own the room and give off this alpha male vibe. (Much better, much more friendly)

    umm I have good posture because I was brought up to have good posture, I was lean, I wasn't allowed to sit around the house, I was outside playing all the time, I wasn't fed a bunch of crap food and as I got older and fatter I didn't lose that posture because it was so ingrained that i never had to think about it.

    I also think genetics has a bit to play, I've broad shoulders, broad hips, I've a build of a guy you wouldn't wanna mess with and I had it from the moment I hit puberty. So I was always encouraged to stand tall, be proud and not give a flying f**k so thats what I did! End of story,

    It aint because i'm white or blue or green or orange.. or because I come from money which I don't, my mum raised me on government assistance.

    Although it is nice having good posture, people do treat you differently but I don't believe it has anything to do with some "alpha" bullshit, it's because I have respect for who I am and people can see that, I also display respect for other people and people pick up on that quickly. So there is a whole hootin load of respect flying around the people I'm about and if your shown respect people naturally give it back.
