Help me create a good ending to the awkward moments created by the gym hottie!

The guy who works at my gym seemingly goes out of his way to start conversations (ex. just yesterday he was halfway across the room in a fluent conversation. I sauntered over to the water fountain and midway through my little drink he was right behind me). He's hot, but after he positions himself for a conversation he behaves nervously (fleeting eye contact, fidgety, not very much to say).

... so I don't know if he feels compelled to chat me up, or if he behaves awkwardly bc he knows I swoon over his back end, but these awkward scenes with the gym hottie keep floating into my head...

What to do (since I'm not positive about his preference I don't want to just hit him with a "coffee sometime?) icon_confused.gif

Just say Hi next time he is close to you. Talk with no expectation of anything coming from it.

Ugh, I've been there. I agree with the advice already mentioned - no expectations. Just have a conversation!

    ^^Uh... Ethics, privacy, awkward^^

To the other guys, good advice, wish I would have gotten it before I went back to the gym... this was like day 5 of awkward repetitive eye contact and broken conversation. Tomorrow will be the end. Well tomorrow is alcohol day, sooo maybe Saturday I'll post news lol.

You already see each other at the gym, so why don't you make plans with this guy to work out together?
Then when you two are working out you can chat and get a feel about what's going on with this guy.

Yeah, whenever I see you at the gym I tense up and don't know what to say, so I apologize, but thanks for noticing my back side. ;) jk

its a bubbler. water fountains are in the middle of public gardens. you can call it a scuttlebutt if you want but you wont get the reference. not a fountain.

Your intellect is enchanting...and thank you for your input, as relevant as it was! In reply to your off-base comment the real name may be whatever you would like to argue, but the figure of speech and connotation for daily language is that "it" is an object that spews water, something similar to a fountain. Referring to"it" this way makes common language a bit clearer.

Again, thank you for your input. I'm sure it will help me solve my issue icon_rolleyes.gif
