Silly question but does anyone have any easy dance moves that make one not look like they are having a seizure? I'm sure some of us (only...maybe just me) have been at a club and not have someone come up to us and say "uhm...yeah...about your dance moves". :-(

Look at old school funk. It's the fundamental foundations of Hip hop (but you can find it in lots of other styles) and will make you look like you know what you're doing if you get into it. An old school two step and four step (doing upper body movements whilst stepping in a two or four count) is extremely helpful too.

The last move in this clip isn't so great lol.

If it's not the kind of stuff you're after try looking up go go dancers on youTube. They dance really well.

Learning to dance isn't about learning how not to have a seizure. Learning to dance is about learning how to control a seizure. icon_cool.gif

I say let the music control you, when I feel that base inside me I lose all control. Just put on a good song, look in the mirror and watch how you move.

Honestly I have no idea if I can dance or not.

But what I do is just let the music take me. If ur listening to good music, u can't help but move to it. As long as you are having fun and not overthinking dancing it will come naturally. You do not need to learn to dance or even b the best dancer. Just have confidence, have fun and let the music take you. Even if you aren't the best, as long as u aren't stiff u can b goofy and fun and pull it off.

For me dancing is effortless, cuz its more about having fun than showing off moves. And I think that's the way it should b.

Having a few drinks first can help loosen u up too, but by a few I mean a few, not 20 shots.

okay I have to adhere to that stereotype because I assume that too lol. But hey if it helps, imagine you're working in a brothel and you're forced to dance and if you don't do a good job, you get your nuts cut off.

That'll give you some motivation to dance well...it did for me...jk...actually I'm slightly serious!

    Haha smooth!

At the OP, just put on some music and practice in front of the mirror as said before. I wouldn't copy any dance steps, cause you're not doing a choreography in a club you're just moving your body, arms and legs. And I personally wouldn't recommend dancing like a go go dancer, their way of dancing is tacky :s

I'm wondering are the most popular dance moves and dancing styles by gay masculine men these days?

Dancing is about timing, you have a beat that you hear and rhythm is the flow of music that you're moving to....

When you move to the beat you exert your body to create shapes (silhouettes) , depending on how hard or soft the beat is determines how soft or hard you move when making your "body shapes" and each movement you do flows with the rhythm, rhythm is how music flows through time and has a constant pattern, you move with that pattern and so the music flows through you.

Best way to feel music flow through you is to turn the lights off and put your head phones in and listen to any song and just step to the beat and flow with the rhythm or just do Zumba classes

Just close your eyes and listen to the music. You can do this at a club or at home. At home stay away from furniture and walls or stairs. At clubs you may bump into someone. Oh well. Just part of the fun. Do not be ashamed you're doing it 'wrong'. There is no wrong way. And FUN is the operative word. Dance and the world dances with you. Yes, and move with abandon. Or just the radio or DJ.
