UPDATE. Guess it's not such a good idea after all. So, to all of the twerps who think MOTD is bad....I say, let's see you come up with something BETTER...icon_exclaim.gif

    *****************************************************************************************
OK, in another thread, CuriousJockAZ came up with a great idea. Instead of having just ONE guy for MOTD, how about ALL the guys who have a birthday on any given day be acknowledged as MEN OF THE DAY???

Guys are tired about it because people are making too big a deal out of it.

Nice idea. Cuz i'm lazy to vote. I will just vote if there's one of the man in my hot list got voted.

The vote could go to Man of the week or Man of the month lol :p

And future idea would be Realjock Calendar featuring men of the year? :p

I think you missed the point. Having the system set up so you are a MOTD because it's your birthday is making a big deal out of MOTD.

If I got MoTD on my birthday I'm sure you'd have a different opinion on this topic.

staples_jockey saidIt's a joke right now. It's the same guys spreading their legs every 90 days with 'vote for me' threads. A guy can win with a couple of dozen votes if he's verified and anyone who has been here for a while can easily ask for that from friends. Some days it's laughably obvious that a better candidate lost to another because of that. Some winners actually gloat. Others know they won nothing because a 'vote for me' thread rigged the vote. As a site 'feature' it's a brutal failure now.

You've been complaining here and in other threads about this motd thing. Really though, why do you care? One, you have no public photo so you can't be nominated or get votes for motd. Two, you are not verified so you can't cast a vote for motd.

    Meh.

If you're out celebrating your birthday with your friends and loved ones than you won't even see that you are MOTD.
If you're home alone on your computer on your birthday, you're hardly doing anything worthwhile to be considered MOTD. What? You need a pat on the back because you didn't drop dead on the day before your birthday?

He cares because, to him, motd is all about having a big dick and since I don't post noods I shouldn't have won. It's really stupid and lame and retarded and in all honesty it really isn't worth motd. Staples has been going around bitching that I won and many people started threads to get me to not get votes because they don't like me. Either way it speaks more about those individuals and their character, or lack thereof, than mine.

I don't think it's a very good idea. Even by qualifying and restricting it with verification, there are still in excess of 8500 verified members. That means there will be, on average, 23 men of the day. With that many men of the day, the process will lose the little significance it has - you may as well remove the contest all together...

I think it's a great idea..and that way, EVERYONE gets to be MOTD at least one day each year!! Perhaps ONE restriction MIGHT apply...that you be verified.
So, whaddya think? Shall we approach Chris about it? I think a lot of guys are getting a little tired of the way it's set up now.

That would be a "See Who Has a Birthday Today" kind of a thing.

Like any elected anything, the voting sytem may be flawed but it IS still elected.

It's not like a bunch of toddlers in preschool sharing cupcakes.

The man of the day is voted by a cross section of members to focus on awesome guys on our site....it should stay the way.... but if the site wanted to acknowledge members birthdays by posting their photos on that special day cool...

I like the idea, however, we should still keep the MOTD contest intact. If the home page could be worked to acknowledge those with birthdays, that would be doable.

And start the process January 2012 so those that have had birthdays to this point would not be left out for 2011.

If you post naked pics you also get a gold star.

Considering the immense amount of hot guys on here, the calendar would be an amazing idea. On top of that I know some girls that would be interested in a copy. icon_smile.gif

It would be a tough task to pick 12 of the hottest guys/bodies here.....I know! icon_exclaim.gif I'll be the Ultimate Judge and each candidate must spend a few hours with me......alone.......icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

True. I usually tend to forget to congratulate people for being motd. If there were 23 motd everyday, then forget about it icon_razz.gif

Cold, your screen name does fit your personality perfectly.

I say we keep MOTD. There are some good guys here that do not get the recognition they deserve.

But I like silver stars more...

It is your perverse taste for the wrong colored star that prevents you from winning the coveted title.

    Something to think about.

Man of the Day is what it is! Learn to live with it. Why not have a link called Today's Birthdays? If you don't want to look, you'd never see it. If you choose to look, you may discover something about "friends" on the site.
