Are people more concerned about HIV today or less concerned?

It seems with all the HIV meds available today some people don't consider the consequences as they did a few years before. I find breaking down the stigma and talking openly to my partner about my status is a way to open the conversation. What do you think?

i think that though advocacy is good, and this question is valid, creating a fake profile to start a thread is lame.

I having not only lived though but survived the 1980's working in a gay Bathhouse, and the gay plauge era. I well well recall so much fear and death first hand as I was not one of those who stood by doing nothing to help, or hiding under mummy's bed, or the wifes dress too feel safe. No my life was at ground zero.

But.........the youth of today and many over 60 did not experience any of that as I did, and all the death of many, man, many friends and not just one loved one. I lost many. They were not born into all the fear. So they have little, so the concern is way, way less into days world; blazay even..........

Less concerned. For my generation being diagnosed HIV+ was considered a death sentence. Today it is considered a managable disease. Not saying this is a wise viewpoint, but that is the impression I have.

From what I SEE with my own eyes and from what my friends tell me, the new generation totally does NOT view HIV/AIDS as an issue at all. A friend of mine recently attended a " sausage party" bachelor party send off for a friend who shall marry his long time lover when the new law goes into effect here in NY in a few days. At the party, well over 40 men all sucked the same cock and a few took the performer's ' load' without batting an eye lid. There were other sex acts performed as well, and again, no protection was used whatsoever. So, I believe the under 30 crowd really believes that there is no Hiv-aids problem at all.

Simply they don't get it until they get it.
