Give Peace a Dance is a benefit concerts and auction that helps Oregon Peace Works. The goal of Give Peace a Dance is to inspire participation from our community, local business, artists, musicians and every day peace-lovers, to dedicate one day to support humanitarian efforts and help unite people from all backgrounds in an evening of local peaceful celebration and harmony. Salem is an untapped gold mine of talent and creativity that all too often goes overlooked. In putting together this event and in looking to lower our own personal foot print on the earth we are reaching out to the local community, business, artists, and musicians for support.
2008 Give Peace a Dance Information Earth Day Theme This year Give Peace a Dance is going completely green. There are green take-home gifts, 5% solution guidelines will be observed, it will be a zero waste event and just about everything involved is locally produced. That applies to the music, food, wine, beer, and auction items. It also applies to the inspiring community participation of local businesses, artists, musicians, organizers and everyday peace-lovers which is uniting people from many backgrounds for an evening of local peaceful celebration and harmony. The Ticket Price is Lower This Year The $18 ticket price ($15 in advance – purchase online at www.oregonpeaceworks.org or at the OPW office, 104 Commercial St. NE, Salem) includes admission, entertainment, delicious food and a take-home gift, making the event affordable for all peace lovers What is Give Peace a Dance? It’s a night of fun, featuring music by the Ty Curtis Band and the Undertones, political satire by Dr. Atomic’s Medicine Show, food, drink, and an entertaining auction. Give Peace a Dance benefits Oregon PeaceWorks, especially OPW’s innovative 5% Solution to the Climate Crisis. It’s a wonderful way to support your local global communities. When and Where? April 26 from 6:30-11 p.m. (doors open/silent auction begins at 6 p.m.) at the Historic Grand Ballroom, 187 High St. NE, Salem, OR 97301 The Undertones and A political satire by Dr. Atomic’s Medicine Show. Appetizers Finger foods provided by Da Vinci’s Ristorante, LifeSource, Organic Fresh Fingers, Cascade Baking and others, plus desserts provided by Dessert Diva on Edgewater, are included in your ticket price. Beverages include a coffee station and tea. In addition, there is a no-host bar featuring local beers and wines.
