If you know your blood type, check and see if it matches...I was reading today how asking blood type is basically the equivalent to asking someone's zodiac in Asia...I think it's pretty interesting icon_biggrin.gif Mine is O by the way and I thought mine was 98% accurate...I disagree with the arrogant part though :/

Do you agree or disagree with your traits?

    Type A

Positive Traits: Conservative, introverted, reserved, patient, punctual and inclined to be perfectionists.
Worst Traits: Obsessive, stubborn, self conscious and uptight.

People with blood type A have a deep-rooted strength that helps them stay calm in a crisis when everyone else is panicking. However, they tend to avoid confrontation, and feel very uncomfortable around people. A types are shy and sometimes withdrawn. They seek harmony and are very polite, but all the same feel that they never really fit in with others. A types are very responsible. If there is a job to be done, they prefer to take care of it themselves. These people crave success and are perfectionists. They are also very creative, and the most artistic of all the blood types, most likely because of their sensitivity. Referred as ‘farmers’ in some descriptions, Type A’s are said to be considerate of others and loyal to a fault. They can also be secretive and reluctant to share their feelings. Apparently they don’t hold their liquor well, either.

    Type B

Best Traits: Animal-loving, creative, flexible, individualistic, optimistic and passionate.
Worst Traits: Forgetful, irresponsible and self-centered.

People with blood type B are the most practical of the blood groups. They are specialists in what they do. When they start a project, they spend extra time understanding and trying to follow directions than others might. When they are doing something, all of their attention is focused on it. They tend to stick to a goal and follow it through to the end, even if it seems impossible. They tend to be less than cooperative, as they like to follow their own rules and their own ideas. They are individualists. B type people pay attention to their thoughts a little more than their feelings, and therefore can sometimes seem cold and serious. Referred to as ‘hunters’, Type B’s have very independent natures and tend not to be concerned about what other people think of them. Although often described as shallow and lazy, they can be quite passionate about the things they hold dear. Patience is not their strong suit either.

    Type O

Best Traits: Ambitious, athletic, robust and self-confident.
Worst Traits: Arrogant, insensitive, ruthless and vain.

People with blood type O people are outgoing, energetic and social. They are the most flexible of the blood types. They easily start up projects but often have trouble following through because they give up easily. They are flighty and not too dependable. O types always say what's on their mind. They value the opinion of others and like to be the center of attention. Also, people with O blood are extremely self-confident. Referred to as ‘warriors’, Type O’s are viewed as natural leaders and are often, also, natural athletes. They tend to be outgoing, expressive and passionate, but can also bore others to death with their obsessive drive for success coupled with their absolute convictions that they are winners. This certainty that they will always win explains why they aren’t afraid to take risks or gamble. They have a strong physical presence and are unlikely to ever be overlooked.

    Type AB

Best Traits: Cool, controlled, empathic, introverted and rational.
Worst Traits: Aloof, critical, indecisive and unforgiving.

People with blood type AB are hard to categorize. They can have characteristics on both ends of the spectrum at the same time. For instance, they are both shy and outgoing. They easily switch from one opposite to another. AB people are trustworthy and responsible, but can't handle it when too much is asked of them. They don't mind doing favors or helping out, as long as its on their own conditions. People with this blood type are interested in art and metaphysics. Referred to as ‘humanists’, Type AB’s are said to be controlled more by their heads, than by their hearts. They are rational, good with money, but unpredictable. Although inclined to be distant, they prefer harmony and as such, work well with mediators. Some consider them two-faced, and therefore untrustworthy.

    Compatibility:

A is most compatible with A and AB.

B is most compatible with B and AB.

AB is most compatible with AB, B, A, and O.

O is most compatible with O and AB.

Judging by those personality traits, it doesn't matter who you are or how nice you "can" be, you're still an asshole.

I'm AB-. What you posted is fairly accurate, even though I could be anything according you what you shared.
I could be shy and outgoing. I'm willing to help others, but on my own terms.
Apparently I'm compatible with everyone. I guess that means that anyone who's not compatible with me is a no one.

I'm A+ - a lot of it is true, but i'm not conservative, i'm not uncomfortable around most people and i can hold my liquor very well - as in not vomit. all the worst traits are true, except i'm not that uptight

The rest is spot on - especially "these people crave success and are perfectionists"

And the A categorization certainly fits me more than any of the others.

Except for the liquor thing, I think our environment is responsible for the rest. In general, I think this is bullshit.

This is no better than a horoscope, in which you find some of your traits in each and every sign. And find some traits in your own sign that are nothing like you.

Like this has ANY basis at all. Unless the genome for the marker protein on red blood cells is remarkably close enough to interact with personality traits (assuming there is a genetic base, and I do believe there is) on genomes, this is complete and utter hogwash.

    Yep, gonna go with hogwash.

You want clues into personality, look up personality theories.

Actually I'm rather surprised to find so many guys here say they're AB, which is the rarest blood type, whether (+) which is 4% of the US population, or (-) which is 1%. I happen to be AB+ myself.

That's almost as reliable as judging someone's personalities from their date of birth

But then I've seen more than 1 "absolutly no gemini's" profile on RJ

Think I might have to start including a blood test in my dating prereqs

Indeed it is rare, but it's actually sort of not surprising since it is a dominantly inherited combo from both A and B. It's should theoretically be more common then O. Just has to do with sheer volume of people I suppose.

    http://www.neatorama.com/2009/02/02/in-japan-blood-type-rules-all/

I read this before I posted this thread and apparently this is pretty serious stuff in Japan...

In Japan, Blood Type Rules All
By Queuebot in Health on Feb 2, 2009 at 1:59 am

There’s an odd fad going on in Japan: that a person’s blood type determines his personality.

But it’s not all fun and game. The craze has gone so far that there’s a new form of discrimination called "bura-hara," where someone may not be offered a job because of his blood type.

In Japan, “What’s your type?” is much more than small talk; it can be a paramount question in everything from matchmaking to getting a job.

By type, the Japanese mean blood type, and no amount of scientific debunking can kill a widely held notion that blood tells all. [...]

Taku Kabeya, chief editor at Bungeisha, thinks the appeal comes from having one’s self-image confirmed; readers discover the definition of their blood type and “It’s like ‘Yes, that’s me!’”

As defined by the books, type As are sensitive perfectionists but overanxious; Type Bs are cheerful but eccentric and selfish; Os are curious, generous but stubborn; and ABs are arty but mysterious and unpredictable.
