Hi, I'm a pretty hairy dude and love my hair but..... I'm 24 and already have some back and shoulder hair. My buddies say my hair is like a fur vest because its not really on my upper arms but goes over my shoulders from my chest and connects to my upper back hair. Like a vest lol.

So anyway what would u guys consider too much hair?

Should I get my shoulders and upper back waxed?

And lastly have any guys done this and if so how did it go? My main concern is that my fur won't look natural and will have a cut off point where it just stops. This is ok if it looks good and stops just at the top of my pecs, but I wonder how well a waxer would b able to give me this look.

    hairy.jpg

I am guessing this guy had his shoulders done based on how hairy he is and it looks fine on him and I would b happy getting a wax so that my fur follows the top of my pecs like this guy has. But I wonder if any waxer could pull this off or if there's any chance they will mess up my fur.

I'm not normally a fan of shoulder and back hair but I think they work really well on this guy:

I'd encourage you to give it a try. I'm lucky, very hairy chest, but not much on my shoulders or back.... the part on my shoulders I learned to remove... I think it looks much better.

Try it and see if you like it to begin with, see if it does anything for you.
Also try the shaving approach... Yes, you CAN shave your back. Get a pair of pliers for assistance. Give us a report.

I am not really sure how pliers would help me shave my back. But last time I manscape anything but my pubes or pits, I had disastrous results lol. So i'd rather have a professional do it.

Plus with shaving won't it grow back thicker?

I guess I have had many guys tell me never to shave or change anything about my hair. But I really don't find back hair attractive and wonder if these guys were exaggerating or if people actually do like completely natural with hairy shoulders and back.

Also any opinions on the reverse happy trail (asscrack trail)? I would get this done too but then don't want a fur diaper look where my butthair just ends at my waist lol.

Thanks for the help so far

Not to be a bitch, but to be a bitch isnt it just as shallow to accept someone for body hair as it is to reject them for it?

I think a hairy chest can be sexy- A real hairy ass is not to me. For a top all the butt hair- not fun. I don't want to comb an ass just to fuck it. That is just me. Others want captain caveman.

OP you don't look overy hairy.

You're going to get people telling you all sorts of different things on here ... from "embrace your hair" to "get rid of all of it." I'd suggest thinking about what you want for yourself rather than trying to predict what the most people are going to find attractive.

Grooming is all personal preference. I prefer to keep my back and shoulders clean. Love my body hair - just not on my back....don't really care what others may think. It's what I like....
Found waxing left me with ingrown hairs and I didn't see the "it grows back thinner" results they claimed. Did that for about a year. Have opted for shaving since. A friend and I trade the service with each other to avoid the razor in the pliers trick (nice one Chris). For the mass clearing I also had a pretty good result with a product called Veet (like Nair but comes with a squeegee-like razor to smooth the hair away with the cream)

Also have an electric shaver made for body grooming that has a long handle and works good when the hair is short. Clippers work well for transistioning back to hairy areas. Works well on the ass. A professional should be able to do this so you don't end up with the harsh line between hair/smooth - which looks so unnatural. But we've gotten pretty good at it ourselves with a little practice.

    Ditto.
Only issue with shaving is how much maintenance you want to devote to it. It's cheap and ez ..to find out how you like it. But, it gets stubbly in a day. If you prefer the look, then invest in a permanent solution, like laser.

Clippers...medium setting, can improve the transition from thick to shaved.

What do your men say about the fur? It's a major turn on for the right guys. Nonetheless, if you don't like it...doesn't matter whether others do, or not.

A friend of mine asked for help with wax strips. I told him if he was my boyfriend, I'd never let him do this. He had a dusting of beautiful soft fur...very masculine looking.
He replied "well you're not; so rip"

I'd give it some time and shave for a while. You might wish you could go natural again for the right guy that's turned on by it. It reminds me of another friend that got circumcised for his boyfriend. Then they broke up. One of the hot things about Latino men is they usually have uncut dick. Kind of a disappointment when it's not there. You might get the same reaction when someone sees your furry chest and unwraps you...expecting more. At least leave a little patch right above your butt. That spot drives me wild.

As per the above. I use a pair of pliers as a grip to hold my razor in shaving anything on my back. It takes some talent.. everything does, but it works for me.

It's a generic statement. Some guys have a hard time with shaving their chest, shoulders, etc anyway, so waxing might be the only alternative.
Mine didn't grow back in "thicker" at all, yours might. I do shave my shoulders and I have... absolutely.. no issues. My skin is used to it and I don't break out.

I have a friend from Kansas City who joined RJ recently and he routinely has his back waxed. We talked about it because he HATES his back hair.
He feels so much better after having it done, so I say, "do it" if you feel it makes a difference.

Again, experimentation with your back is the key.

I for one love man hair...all of it. I'd say what feels right to you...you're the one that's got to feel comfortable in your own skin and hair.

I don't think I have ever been rejected due to my hair. I want to just do this because I personally think back hair isn't hot.

mikemikemikeOP you don't look overy hairy.

Lol u should see me in real life, I'm pretty hairy for someone in their 20s

And I am a top and would only bottom for my boyfriend (whenever I get one) so I'm not worried about my butt hair lol. Just the reverse happy trail.

I have not seen 1 post in support of shoulder or back hair, so that makes my decision a bit easier.

I agree with Togalone (above me here) when he suggests you do as you please. For me though, as a blond guy, I don't have much extra hair. I sometimes leave my chest alone, other times I might shave it, but I don't want stubble. Better to leave it alone, I guess. If I see any hair coming in up on my shoulders, off it comes. I have arm and leg hair and I leave that alone. Finally, I manscape the other areas, not shaving but trimming - which is a good look for me.

I don't want to see too much hair on a guy and I don't like getting it in my teeth. Nothing hotter than a smooth back and ass on a muscle stud!

I shave my back and shoulders, it does grow back a lot faster when you shave it but I feel more clean cut without hair there.

P.s. When trying to shave your back, shave in rows

    What about ur butt?

Can people even shave their own asses? And if so how do u blend it to ur leg hair.

The more I read, the more I think I need a professional or at least a dedicated manscape partner lol.

I think a full hairy chest, stomach, legs and arms can look great on the right guy. Usually, though, even those guys look better with the shoulders and back cleaned up. Just my opinion.

Btw, if you get waxed, the person doing it should be able to "feather" it so the hairy and nonhairy areas blend in without a sharp line.

If you get waxed, take some pics and post them! icon_wink.gif
