So I am sure you all saw the PSA from Lance Bass on today's National Day of Silence. This is an effort from GLSEN bring attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment and started at Univ. of Virginia 12 years ago.

15 years ago GLSEN (then GLSTN) helped me start one of the first Gay Straigh Alliances in the country at my prep school in New Jersey. Though I was lucky not to have been harassed in high school, I have been provoked and called names throughout my life. Things are definately different than when I was in high school. However, the same tormenting and bullying effects gay and lesbian kids across the country every day.

Check out the website for more details. Hopefully this important statement will grow and be recognized for its positive impact to change the way we all treat eachother.
