You can pick up cards and info and buy tickets to events at Little Sister's bookstore on Davie. Raja, Manila and Lady Bunny are all there at separate parties, which I'm pretty excited about, but I probably won't see any of them. There's a slew of indie parties too, boat cruises, pool parties, the streetparty and beer gardens...

There is lots to do in Vancover, in general. I'll partake in some of the stuff. Here is the website for a list of pride events: http://www.vancouverpride.ca/event-calendar

Not really into the scene and the ONE gay friend I had who I was close enough to go to Pride stuff with, moved back to Toronto, so don't think I'll be going to anything this year.

That being said, provided the weather is nice, Wreck Beach the Saturday before the parade is usually TEEMING with hot, scantily-clad guys. Should be fun...

I wish that I had the money to travel to Vancouver. I would love to see the Pride Festival and be amongst all those scantily clad, muscular guys on the beach. But unfortunately, I am stuck in Buffalo with our humid, hot weather and little to do this weekend.icon_sad.gif

If it's any consolation, it's been one of the coldest summers on record in Vancouver. There has hardly been a day warm enough to go to Wreck Beach, and those that do might cover up (it's a nude beach). :S

The Couverites told me its the only time of year that the downtown really gets jumping... so that should be worth it to check out.

Then you should check it out on the Saturday because there will be both Pride events and the fireworks festival downtown. Fireworks are also on the Wednesday, but I'm not sure there are any Pride events happening yet.

It will be my first time. I might march in the parade, but it could all be very fun. I guess it's a good way to meet guys and hang out. If you're in town, or live here, send me a message and let's go for coffee!
