An amazing show. Definitely recommend watching it.
I'm hanging out for Season 2, but after devouring the season in a day I'm getting antsy and might read the books.

I don't usually watch shows to perv, but, to me, Drogo is incomprehensibly irresistible...

Great show. I didn't realise it'd be so full on, but I enjoy Sean Bean as an actor so I keep watching.

    And yes Drogo is hot!

Yeah - the acting in general is pretty good. I thought they could have built some of the tension a bit better, but I'm still infatuated with the show. It's probably going to bear my children.

in case no one knew, jason momoa (khal drogo) will be playing conan in the remake of conan the barbarian.

also, the books are pretty amazing. i watched season one and couldn't get enough ... so i turned to the books. i'm now on book three and i can't wait til april for season two to be released. i just heard gerard butler will be playing stannis baratheon.

Every scene is exceptionally well-crafted -- direction, acting, casting, costumes, sound and lighting, sets. It is amazing they can afford this. I love the Starks, but my favorite character is the imp.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned what amounts to the elephant in the room for this series, apparently.

I don't want to post spoilers, but I just watched the penultimate episode of the first season (haven't read the books). Seriously,

    WTF??!!!!

    icon_eek.gif

Like, really??? They really did that??

    WOW.

I did read somewhere that Martin does it often and I should not get attached to any one of them. But I was still not expecting THAT.

If you have read the books and watched the series, you know what I'm talking about. How did you all react?

RHUK.... Do what the rest of us do...Pray he finishes before he dies. he's getting up there, and after Robert Jordan went and kicked the bucket 11 books into his 12 book series, it's a real fear.

Hartsfan...If it helps any he's also known for introducing more and more new characters until you care about more people than you ever wanted to.

I won't post spoilers either... but that's nothing compared to what he does in book 3. I literally threw the book across the room. If the TV series makes it to the particular scene I'm speaking of, a lot of people are going to be in for a huge shock. Half the reason I enjoy watching the show is to see my boyfriend's reaction to the twists and turns.

When I was reading the series, about half-way through book 3, I thought I had figured the whole thing out... like what the ultimate point of the story was and where he was going with it. Book 3 just destroyed everything I thought about the story! And that's why it's my favorite series of all time.

Did you love the scene where Drogo drops his weapons and straight up rips that dude's throat out? Like, probably the most bad ass fight scene.

I can't wait till April for season two. Ugggh

I don't care what Martin does as long as my Khaleesi (Daenerys) lives forever.

I read all 5 books last November and I'm not sure he ever plans on ending it. And so far he's kept the number of characters manageable. But he's really good at throwing curve-balls and killing off characters.

You have to read the books now. The show was canceled along with a few other HBO series. Too bad, because I really was looking forward to season 2.

At least I've got Dexter and (hopefully) Web Therapy to look forward to.

It was in the Hollywood Reporter several days ago. In looking at it currently though, it seems they may have misreported. No retraction though.

So I'll retract my statement until I get facts (which I assumed they were the first time!)

It's definitely not cancelled. I'm on the GoT Facebook page, and they frequently report from location where they are currently filming season 2.

The books are amazing. I have read all but the last one. The show totally brought the books to life. Loved it!

Variety reported on Dec. 20 that the second season of GoT was upcoming.

I watched the TV series first before reading the books...to see what my friends were going on about...and because I can now only pictures the characters and scenes as per TV,the book is rather spoiled. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    Roll on series 2

I hope there's no dragons. They make fantasy just generic crap in the way of Anne McCafferty and all that shite.
