    Not surprising. She was self-destructive.

Maybe someone you love will die through their "self-destructive" behavior and you'll learn a little humility and empathy for others.

She was a fucking awesome talent Jack, very intelligent (research her) and had a genuine heart of gold. Her music touches the soul; she deserves a bit more sensitivity than a facetious dismissive put-down.

She clearly felt too much, her only 'crime'. Might sound cheesy, but true. Undoubtedly it was the seed of her musical/lyrical genius and tragically the cause of her escapism troubles, and likely, eventual death. As is the case with so many brilliant stand-out artists and highly intelligent people in general as mental health/emotional issues have often gone hand-in-hand with exceptional creative intelligence.

A real London girl (from the same local area as myself) with soul, a genuine sensitive heart and of course, trouble dealing with the pains of life. Not to be maudlin, but, I've got nothing but love and heavy genuine empathy for her.

I hope if there is such thing as a soul, her's is finally happy, healthy and at peace.

There were people around her who tried to help her. She didn't listen.

Although, I wonder how many enablers were around her?

Your comments are classless, but that isnt a shock.

I think these words, from Perez Hilton, who actually knew her... are a bit more appropriate than your tasteless analysis....
    _________________________________________

To say we are deeply saddened today is an understatement. And what is hurting us even more is the response her untimely death is eliciting from a lot of people.

What we want more than anything is for people to know the Amy Winehouse that we knew.

She was clearly troubled, but there was not an ounce of evil in her body. She was not a bad person. She just surrounded herself with bad people.

Amy Winehouse was one of the sweetest people we have ever met, and it is such a tragedy that the world has lost such an incredible talent.

We remember all the times we spent with Amy and the thing she wanted more than anything else in this life was not fame and fortune but somebody to love her. That's a deep desire we had in common and would talk about a lot.

She dreamt of cooking for her man and starting a family. She'd share her favorite recipes and dream of simpler life.

Oh, and she loved music. A lot!

One time, we went with her to a record store, she asked an employee where the soul section was and then Amy proceeded to buy 10 random CDs at once. Well, Perez actually paid because her credit card didn't work! Ha

Amy also was such a thoughtful friend. One of our most cherished possessions is framed platinum plaque that she sent us for our birthday a couple of years back of her megahit album Back To Black, and inside she had signed the record with a "heart" Amy.

We will forever hold that close to our heart and we will always remember the good times we spent with her.

And, what we hope for more than anything is… even if people didn't get to know the real Amy Winehouse, like we did, and fall in love with her and her childlike innocence… we hope that what people remember the most is her catalogue of timeless songs.

    That lives on! Forever!

While it isn't shocking that Amy passed away, it's still sad nonetheless. I never really listened to a lot of her songs, but I loved "Rehab", her voice reminded me of Harry Belafonte's who I love. It's unfortunate she couldn't recover, but she's free from all that stress that drugs and alcohol have given her.

Immature cuntyness much Edward? Drop the facade for five minutes man, i'm all for dark humour, but mean spirited bile spewed at somebody who died a few hours ago is a sign of a deeply troubled sociopath, just something to consider...icon_rolleyes.gif

Speculative reports from sources close to Amy Whinehouse are coming out now that it seems drugs were not the cause as she has been off hard drugs for a while now, however, her nervous system has been fried to bits for a long time and she may have had a fatal seizure (which she has been known to suffer from since her general decline).

Even if the upcoming autopsy results DO point to the contrary and she did in fact have a drug overdose directly brought on by own actions, it doesn't change the fact that her mental deterioration and resulting death is a damn sad shame, and worthy of a bit of sensitivity.

Its soo cliche "dead at 27". Lets face it folks. Commercially and maybe artistically she had hit her peak with Back to Black so she self destructed. She initiated the whole booz and druggie persona to sell records. Her first album wasn't so popular so, like lady gaga, she concocted this ridiculous druggie persona to sell more records (which she did). She saw the emergence of a new, unbeatable brit soul pop icon (Adele) and new she was done with. So rather than gather herself and try to be productive she hastily did away with herself at 27. Just like Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, and Jim Morroson. I can't say I'm sorry about all this. I think its pretty stupid on her part as an artist. On her hit song "fuck me pumps" she warned a woman that she should be fearful cuz she was "pushin 30". Perhaps Winehouse was the one fearful of pushin 30 and being forgotten.
