Would you accept to be the vampire slayer of your generation ala Buffy ? Or maybe a little more like Faith ? Me personally, slaying vamps at night while serving starbucks during the day sounds like a sweet deal. Except for the whole bite on neck, you die kind of deal and you'd be the only one of your kind called every generation and....LOL.

    are you KIDDING ME?

It would be SO kick ass to be a vampire hunter- HOWEVER

    in the end

    the vampires always win

no way to kill them all

and slayers have a little thing called mortality

    while vampires

    well

    dont.

If i had to choose between being a slayer and a vamp, id take vamp any day.

    Live forever

ur gorgeous (if we are talkin anne rice vamps)

    heightened senses

get to see the end of the world.

just start hunting hot d-bags who dont deserve to live.

    sounds like the life.

    *kisses*

    On the question, SURE!

If I die, I could always restart from the last save point right? Or at least I get to die really really spectacularly. icon_cool.gif

Buffy died twice and that didn't seem to slow her down too much.

Yeah, except the second time, she brought the show down with her. Buffy may have returned but the series' remotest intelligence was beyond resuscitation.

doesn't much matter. i'd be dead in three minutes anyway.

unless vampires succumb to slap fights.

It's not like there'd be much choice in accepting it; when you're the Chosen One, there won't be anyone else to fill your shoes. Even Buffy Anne Summers was initially and later hesitant to her calling (as seen in the movie and all of the TV-series seasons).

I'd probably move away from my family earlier, in order to disassociate myself from them and thereby indirectly protect them. I think I would accept it quicker than Summers did.

Re: CE's assessment on the Slayer vs. vampire situation
The vampires do not necessarily win. In the Whedonverse, it seems that a demonless (and therefore vampireless) world is on the horizon due to the soon-to-be-revealed Twilight and its removal of magic from Earth. Besides, vampires die on a much larger scale than Slayers and are on the lowest rank on the demon statuspole.

finally, another tru scifi head to weigh in on this-

assuming that we are limiting our discussion to the whedonverse and including this twilight (which we know little about)- a demonless universe would leave slayers obsolete and so having to choose between being one or the other, one would clearly choose being a slayer because all the demons and vamps are about to disappear anyway. so much for a chosen one.

and only evil vampires die at the hands of slayers- look at spike and angel, thy do prety well for themselves. i think id still rather be a vamp, i would just ensure that i stay on the good side, killing hot d-bag assholes that should be deleted from society anyways.

like a pickier Dexter of the vampire universe.

You have got to be kidding! Riley was such a case! He and Buffy were so clearly all wrong for each other.

Too funny - I'm in the middle of re-watching all the episodes. Lol, I'm in the middle of Season 4.

I actually named my cat after Faith from Buffy - other than the whole 'psycho-killer' part I'd be Faith. icon_biggrin.gif

Wow, I gave up on the Buffy stuff after she shagged Spike. That was some disbelief I couldn't suspend.

The whole spike/buffy angle threw me for six in that season. It was just so....off. And when he nearly raped her in the bathroom I sort of gave up on Spike ever being redeemed and a bit of Buffy lost me too. I get that she was hating herself and all emo because she was bought back from the dead against her will, but come on ! Grow some balls bitch LOL.

I have to say that faith is my fave slayer in the mythos. She is just so complex and in your face and would be the ultimate hag to have your back in a time of crisis ! I also thought she is one of the better fighters out of Buffy and her. Her fight against Angelus in Angel was proof of that when she wants to, faith and totally kick vampire ass with the best of them.

Out of the two originals who do you think is the better slayer, Buffy or Faith ? I had my doubts, but after seeing Faith in season 7 and then in her arc NO FUTURE FOR YOU in the comics, I think Faith is the better Slayer. She is just so brutal and to the point. PLus, she can take down Angelus and Angel as shown in the Angel tv series.

As for the season 7 angle I am still not sure where Joss is going with the whole slayer line activated plot. But, seeing how the season 8 is going so far it appears that there will be a bloodbath on our hands soon, and that many of the called Slayers are up for the count.
