About 5 months ago I had unprotected anal sex with another man at a party. I know this man but after this happened we don't talk.

I am getting a bit scared wondering if I have HIV because of this.

I have seen blood in my bowels lately but I am not sure if that is from my nose (It has been bleeding a lot due to allergies)

I also have a rash on my arms but I have had that for ages

I haven't had fever like most have, but I am not sure. i thought I should ask for the opinion of other men.

This was my first and only time having sex (And probably my last time)

Please help! will post more info if needed! icon_confused.gif

    EDIT:

I wanted to add that he came in my anus

I also looked up HIV/AIDS Rash and my rash is definitely not caused by the virus

HIV does not normally manifest symptoms this early, but anything is possible. You need to get an HIV test.

The bleeding from below is a more pressing issue. You should make an appointment with your doctor. If you feel weak, dizzy or you get worse go to an ER.

Definitely need to get checked out, asap, for everything!

In future, always insist on condoms! Jeez.

Really all this panic when a test can solve it.

I second a test. The doctors generally recommend three to six months after the incident for a more accurate test. You can get a rapid test also and know within minutes.

Why do these idiot posts always seem to be their 1st or 2nd post on RJ? You had unprotected sex with a man at a party? Pathetically stupid and careless move. Go get tested. If you dodged a bullet, let this be the luckiest lesson you ever learn.

    ^This.

Seriously, in this day and age any gay man who doesn't know the dangers of unprotected sex is just asking for trouble. You're 18, OP. What the hell are they teaching you in school and why aren't you being more proactive about about your sexuality? I hate newbies/previous RJ members who think it's cute to bring old stuff like this up as a joke. The solution to the problem requires only a minimal amount of common sense which clearly doesn't seem to be common at all in today's generation.

It's comments like this that make me want to pull a "Chainers" and just tell you to die quickly and quietly so the rest of us don't have to deal with your stupidity, OP.

Obviously to me, this is a terrible "joke" making fun of recent anxious hiv scare posts :/

    should be deleted.

And why do they never seem to have pictures? RJ members are not the final experts on HIV, that is why we have people in society who spend 8+ years in University getting medical degrees.

Agreed this is getting ridiculous. But, I will say that in most cases there will not be these symptoms after only 5 months. The HIV virus is actually a delicate virus that does not destroy the immune system overnight. It takes an average of 8 to 10 years (according to the CDC) for HIV to destroy the immune system to the point of the opportunistic infections showing up and developing these symptoms.

Anyone that has unprotected sex has to be aware of the risks they take, me included.

    Get tested.

He may be trolling, but, it amazes me how little some gay men actually know about HIV/AIDS.

I just can NOT resist this one.

Get your head out of your ass and you won't have the blood from your nose in your bowels. Seriously, if you don't know the rules of the game, then you shouldn't be playing.

I'm thinking this is the same troll that posted previously that he was afraid he had HIV from the oral sex he had received the night before! Really?

Lots of schools are teaching abstinence until (heterosexual) marriage, and nothing else.

To the OP: First, get tested. Then, no matter what the results are, you need to educate yourself about how HIV is and is not transmitted.

While most (if not all) schools teach abstinence I seriously doubt they don't teach a section about STD's. Biology, Physiology and Health do hit upon sexual transmitted diseases at some point. Regardless of whether they teach it in school or not it's still the individuals responsibility hence being proactive.

    Some facts:

    • Asking medical advice on a public forum is stupid
    • Letting a stranger shoot their load up your ass is even more stupid. You might as well be injecting HIV into your veins with a syringe.

    But since you're asking anyway.......

    • If the blood is bright red it's probably nothing to worry about. Most likely hemorrhoids or a break in the skin. If it's a dark red, it can be life threatening. Either way. GO TO THE DOCTOR. But it probably has nothing to do with HIV or AIDS.
    • It's way too soon to be seeing that kind of symptoms even if you did contract HIV. It's possible if you got a strong dose, but not likely at all.
    • Go get tested and EDUCATE yourself on how to have safe sex. You don't have to swear off sex completely, just have SAFE sex. icon_rolleyes.gif

Trust me they do teach about STDs and STIs taught to me in a maditory Health class which centered on sex it seems. I don't know how other schools do it but mines handed out condoms and everything because they knew people would do what they want. Regardless if he knew the guy or not it was a random fuck he should have been protected. Ignorance is bliss. Just hope he hasn't contracted anything.

Yeah, this is like a BS story problem looking for attention as if nobody has anything better to do than offer sympathy and say get tested/see a doctor.

As someone who was accused of being a dick to the other guy, I will say this:

At least the guy cummed in his ass, as opposed to NO bodily fluids being exchanged.

    Go get tested dude.

Ne because I asked my dad and he said that it could be from blood that goes down my throat. It may sound silly but there is no other way to rephrase this...
