Yesterday, I met up with RJ member RunintheCity (Ben)! He's in DC on business, so I took a trip down to spend the afternoon together.

We'd decided to do some museum hopping, so first we checked out the Corcoran. It was alright...they were between exhibitions, so a couple of wings were closed off. I had fun being a trouble maker though - setting off alarms for getting too close to the sculptures. icon_lol.gif

Next, we walked down past the White House and across the mall to the Hirshhorn Museum. It was a beautiful day in the afternoon (a bit warm, but sunny), so the walk was nice (even though my legs were hurting really bad from some DOMS; I felt like I was hobbling along like an old lady).

The Hirshhorn has a really amazing exhibit right now if video art. A couple of the installations were pretty amazing. My favorite was an animation piece across 5 widescreen monitors by a Japanese artist (I'd have to look it up - I'm terrible with remembering names).

Afterwards, we had dinner in Dupont Circle, got some ice cream and walked around for a while.

The whole day was a LOT of fun - I had a really great time getting to know him. Ben is smart, witty, absolutely charming and even more handsome in person. He also has a killer smile, which he should show more in his photos. ;)

I've never been one to obey hierarchies.... icon_twisted.gificon_wink.gif

Meanwhile, because I was so exhausted after Joe left last night and I slept 10 hours, I want to go out tonight. But where to go? I'm not used to having all these options. icon_rolleyes.gif

Not News: RJ folks stop into DC to say high.
News: They went to the museum and not the gym.
Fark: RJ partially based in Alexandria!

(There has got to be some fan of Fark on here that will get this...please)

I havent been there in years, but Remingtons on Capitol Hill (623 Pennsylvania Ave, 6 blocks from the Capitol Building) is the c-w gay bar. I loved it. ...and I am getting itch to go out dancing again.

There is a metro stop just 1/2 block from the bar. But STAY ON PENNSYLVANIA AVE..dont go onto the side streets. This is South East DC and not safe!!!!!

Prolly going up to Dupont Circle is better. But I dont know any of the bars up there anymore.

I guess I should have said something more like:

Fark: RJ headed up miles from my home!

Not sure... but that Farkism came into my head while reading the original post, and I couldn't contain myself. Either way, I'm in College Park and for some reason I always think of websites (and just about everything gay for that matter) being centered in California or the Northeast.
