Getting My Haircut. What Style?

    Hi.

So, I FINALLY remembered to schedule a haircut apointment during the day (meaning, I can actually make the call while they are still open) for this thursday. My hair has gotten very long, too long really. My hair is girl hair pretty much with the way it falls and the light color, so it needs to go.

The question is... what should I do with it? Not many hair styles work for me because I have an oddly shaped head, a high hairline, and my hair is super fine so it just falls completely flat unless I use a ton of product (which I never want to use anyway, I like low mantience).

So, people of realjock, what should I go for? I am definitely thinking of cutting a lot off (but I'm not buzzing it, that's out).

Firstly, your hair doesn't look like ladies hair at all...

I think go with something between these styles. Not as manicured and long as the first one, but not as boyish as the second one. They suit straight/flat hair and eliminate the high hairline problem.

Your face would also suit a longer fringe if you handle an annoying sheet of hair touching and poking you all day.

No Jesus, don't cut your lovely blonde locks. D:

Okay- the ivy cut would work, or something long but kinda tame.

No. The OP's head shape does not suit a haircut this short.

He also clearly took time to grow out his hair, so he probably doesn't want to just get rid of it like that.

I find your post to be asinine and useless. Please refrain from giving any more style related advice.

    EDIT: [surfer dude]
This hair style is too round for OP's face.

Something like this would work better:

Note that the guy has similar face shape, nose, eyes, and goatee to the OP.

I so so so wish I could do short hair well, I really really wish I could, but alas it just doesn't work well. The above post hit it well, that's the style type that works for me. I've done it countless times though, and sort if just want to do something else. The first post in this thread has interesting styles, but I don't really like them. Additionally, the look to feminine for my tastes.

Here's some refrances (old pictures) of how I have had my hair before:

This is the shortest I have ever cut it in years, but the style didn't look right until it grew out some: http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/29914_1326700610972_1334610127_30868747_5458897_n.jpg
Typical style I have kept over the years: http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/40488_1395686455575_1334610127_31054204_2953395_n.jpg
Only picture I have where it looks "very short" when in reality, it's just a mess: http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/29914_1323444409569_1334610127_30861555_5406503_n.jpg but I have no idea how to replicate that, and it could just be the camera angle.

Oh and P.S. Thanks for all the help so far icon_smile.gif

If you're willing to fem up your styling routine, wavy hair would work well on you.

Or a side-swept look might work.

It would be useful to have a picture of what you look now. Otherwise we're just blowing smoke up your ass. How can we judge?

Nope. Do not cut more than an inch off......or else you will regret it.

Ignore what I tell you and repent. If you don't like it, you can go back.

Not everyone was meant to have a buzzcut.

rexexex saidur looking a bit too soft and it's not working for u
i think u should get something edgy
    just go drastic
shave all of it off and keep the facial hair and it might work very well
    or get a crew cut
don't go for some stupid fad because fad's fade
    u won't
    This is stupid advice.
We've already established that a buzzed or shaved head isn't a look that will work for him. Also, the soft look is absolutely perfect for him. He has light hair, light eyes, clear complexion, fair skin, and soft features.

This hairstyle suits him perfectly but as he said he's bored of having the same haircut:
    40488_1395686455575_1334610127_31054204_

The wavy look I posted is similar to a hairstyle from the 70s, and the side-swept look is reminiscent of a hairstyle from the 60s. They clearly aren't fads as they've been around for decades.

What are you, the author of the hair bible? Clearly this advice is coming from a bitter experience in your past.
If OP wants a totally new hairstyle, a few inches are gonna have to come off.
I agree that the buzzcut is bad news (also extremely overrated) but you can't change your hair with an inch.

Yeesh, no need for people to get hostile.

Either way buzzing it is out. Maybe I'll consider that in the distant future, maybe, but not now. I'll always have people tell me I should just buzz it, but most of them just want everyone to have short hair *shrug*. I love buzzed hair on other guys, but it doesn't work for everyone, as I said, and it doesn't work for me. And yes, I have current pictures in my profile.

I would go for wavy hair, it would work, if my hair would hold that. Years ago my friends tried to take a curling iron/hairspray to me as a joke mostly. It didn't work. My hair is simply too fine to hold a curl or wave, and I am not getting a perm! lol.

What I am thinking I am going to do, is emass all of these examples when I go thursday, present it with the hair dresser, talk it out with her, and then decide something. It is hair so it will grow back. That and I go to higher end salons, so I know what I ask for will come out good.

rexexex saidyeah, if the man was to be peter pan and never to age, sure.. let's keep that in mind.. OR, he can man the fuck up and try for something a little more mature seeing as he wont be jollying around in the woods with his blazer and vest for his entire lifetime.. just a thot.

    get off your glass horse
I thot you wanted to be my friend, according to you yesterday.

The looks I posted are perfectly valid for a matured man.

I'm always hostile. People know me for it.

I work in fashion as a wardrobe stylist and for one shoot we had a girl come in with hair like this:
    na6iLGzUCphtt9oq4qtfsajBo1_400.jpg
telling us that her hair has never been able to hold curls before and that our idea probably wouldn't work.

    She left looking like this:
    vogue+wig+pic.jpg

I'm not even exaggerating. You just need to ask a professional how to do it. We did have the world's strongest hairspray (according to hair stylists who would kill to have an endless supply of it) though.

Post a pic in this thread when you get it cut! I'm interested to see how handsome you look post-cut. icon_wink.gif

rexexex saidyeah dude but they're outdated my friends 4 year old has that haircut as long as it takes to break in new hair i think going for something new and figuring it out with ample time is probably the best route to go he's eventually gonna grow up he may still have a cute face but he won't look 15 n that's good his body's gonna change too n if he's keeping fit, i have a hard time imagining a super buff guy with one of those he'll look like he's ready to prance at the drop of a fedora

he's got a golden filter tee i believe some tats obviously into dark clothes so he can either do a totally bummed out don't give a fuck look go the industrial route (which i would kinda recommend) or get the bangs and be a comformist to try to look like everyone else and buy fitting clothing (which on him, i think looks totally unbecoming)

all those guys u posted, btw, had something in their eyes.

    op, he kinda don't.
No, they're not. One of the photos I posted was from 2011 hair trends, and the movie Thor just came out a few months ago.
Chris Hemsworth in Thor is a super buff guy wearing the haircut.

What's in their eyes? One of them has 2 strands of hair, another has 1 strand, the other two have no hair in front of their eyes.

I may as well be talking to a chimp about hair right now. It's demeaning to even answer your posts. Your spelling is ridiculous and your arguments are invalid.

Oh my god, you're awful. That haircut is so tacky and looks like it's straight out of the 90s, and you have the balls to call my hairstyles outdated.
