Hey guys...just wanted to do a quick check-in since we're halfway through 2011 already! How's everyone's year so far?? Doing well on goals/resolutions? Post it!

I've had a great year so far! Came out publicly in January, hit my body fat/weight goals, been out on dates and have met some great guys and also opened up big time to the RJ community.

Would love to hear how you guys are doing!

a "mixed bag" for this year, so far.....

health-wise not so good. a routine meniscus knee repair last allowed a virulent MRSA staph infection to enter me that i am still receiving daily anti-biotic IV infusions for, still need a 4 pronged cane for walking assistance, am more-or-less house bound.

since the initial knee injury occurred at work; all my doctor bills and ongoing staph infection treatments are being paid for by my employer.

on the bright side, i lost a much needed 30 pounds and am keeping the weight off thanks to diet restrictions.

job-wise, i finally received a long delayed, passed over promotion (when i finally return to work!!) thanks to a union backed and fought EEO age discrimination grievance. i will receive More Money and much better working conditions.

relationship-wise, all is awesome! my long term bf and i just keep closer and happier with each other. it just keeps getting better and better, everytime we are together! his mother and brother check up on me and call me more than my own family does.

finances...well, thanks to the above staph infection and being at home at on 80% short term disability pay, i'm not prospering, but holding my own, thanks to spending restrictions. who is prospering this year?

i purchased a new car last Christmas that i am quite pleased with; as well as an older "collector car" that needs some minor repairs/upgrades than i can do when my knee regains some flexability.

    so.....how's by YOU?

Doing great so far. There have been some ups and downs, lost a few clients because of the recession but not enough to cause layoffs or major cutbacks.icon_wink.gif

The last quarter of this first half has been very good.
Changed jobs, have more free time, more money, getting back into the gym and spending time with my man.
It's a big turn around from the direction it was going.

Terrible. The first year of the decade is always a disaster for me (as are many "odd" years). Can't wait for 2012!

    Great!

Had an enjoyable 1st half of the year in Chicago with some of the best friends a guy could ask for, got certified as a personal trainer, moved to NYC, and just got a personal training job at NYSC!

2010 was one of the worst years ever for me, and I have done alot of soul searching over the last year, and I feel like I'm finally doing the things that will make me happy for me. icon_biggrin.gif

So far so good. Have gotten to travel to all kinds of places every month: Chicago, San Francisco, NY, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Miami, LA, etc..

As far as goals I've done OK. I still drink too much and spend too much money, but I finally got my ass back into the gym and the results so far have been worth it. That and this marks year 4 with my current partner so that is another personal milestone.

Ditto. It just seemed like everything imaginable went wrong for me in '09 and '10. It sucked, but fortunately hardship gave me opportunity to turn things around this year. I'm on the rebound and feeling optimistic these days icon_biggrin.gif

I woke up, stretched, farted, worked out, cooked breakfast, watched a few shows, did a few white russian shots, and took a nap.

Citizen Cope, Gay Rodeo in Ft Lauderdale and my birthday made Spring great.

Got dumped in May , so things really sucked for a bit.

Then I took frustrations out at the gym and on the road, which has led to fat loss, mass gains and faster times. So things have been great again.

So on average things have been really good for me icon_biggrin.gif despite the broken heart icon_sad.gif

Career: very, very, very well icon_smile.gif

Living situation: just moved into a stunning unit in a very nice building; a tremendous improvement over where I came from icon_biggrin.gif

Gym: not very well ... and possibly worse. See next icon_mad.gif

Health: still waiting on results from biopsy so reserving commentary icon_neutral.gif

    Social life: poor icon_sad.gif

Keeping in touch with foreign pen-pals: the old ones quit writing so I made a new one ... this one is really, really ridiculously good looking too. icon_eek.gif

    Dating life: non-existent icon_cry.gif

I have had worse mid-year crises than this year. I still have time to start making some things better where I can; although a significant part of it is already out of my hands, I can only try and be healthier from this point on if it comes back benign.
