hey guys, i know this may sound a bit hokey or what not, but i had a freaky experience at my work today. k, the corridor that our store is located in the mall is the spot where a construction worker apparently died during construction (this found out from my manager a few months ago), and when closing the store today, i was bringing sum trash to the back door hallway, and i heard the sound of some keys dangling (all store associates have key chains to open the changeroom doors, the cash drawers, the backdoors, etc) so i looked around the corner to see who was there and no one was, so i thought nothing of it, continued what i was doing, and then i heard it again, so i looked around, cuz it sounded closer...nothing, this time when i looked around i felt chills run up my back and i left the back room as fast as i could to see if anyone was playin a trick on me...no one was, they were all at the front of the store which is far from the back room....icon_eek.gif

i still cant shake the feeling
any others got sum stories? or explanations for me. please, lol

Actually, I think it may have been the ghost of your elementary school English teacher admonishing you for your use of a shortcut spelling of her favorite word, "some."

Okay, all kidding aside, yeah, I've had a few experiences. The most lucid one was during a visit to Old Sturbridge Village, a restored colonial village in Massachusetts. I was alone in one of the buildings in a room that was sort of a ballroom in what was the house of a wealthy merchant or sea captain (I forget)... wood floors, painted frescoes on the plaster, that sort of thing. I was immersed in the beauty of the room and walked through a column of air that was measurably colder; I'd say a good fifteen degrees colder, and it was about the width of another person, really. I walked though it and when I went to walk back into it a moment later, it was gone.

I'm pretty open minded about these things, though, so I smiled and said "Hello, nice house," and carried on.

I have tons of ghost stories to tell!! Just don't know where to start...

I have never seen a ghost. Just felt it. I was working as a truck mechanic once and had to stay overnight in the garage alone. Because you're so used to sounds of metal and stuff, you don't notice it. I slept in the office and woke up to go to the loo at around two a.m. When I was going to the loo I thought I heard metal pipes being dropped on the floor, but didn't pay attention to it. Until when I came out of the loo, then I heard metal pipes being systematically dropped. One, by, one.

I walked towards the source of the noise in the middle of the garage, there are flashlights all over the place so I should SEE the person dropping it. But no one was there. No a single soul. Then sound continued. I walked closer then it stopped. "It" obviously could see me too.

I felt a chill going through my body and I felt really scared and slowly walked back to the office, locked the door and hid myself in my sleeping bag.

The next day I told my boss what happened, and he laughed it off. I was so upset that day, but towards the end of the day, he finally told me that yes, the garage was haunted and I wasn't the only one who's experienced funny things there at night.

First off I just want to say as I was reading this thread my door slowly swung open and it creeped me out. It wasn't fully shut but the way it sits it never opens on its own. Coincidence? I'm telling myself so. LOL

Anyway, I did have an ongoing experience when I was younger. I moved into a new house in grade 8. Shortly after I got settled in I kept hearing noises in my bedroom at night. I would hear what clearly sounded like footsteps walking around my bed, somewhat slowly but at an even pace. Then there would be a tapping above my head. It sounded exactly like someone tapping their finger against the wall. Whenever I sat up and looked at the spot the noise was coming from it would immediately stop. Same thing with the footstep noises. I was pretty creeped out but would always tell myself its just an overactive imagination. This went on for a long time.

One night in particular, all the contents of my shelf fell on me in the middle of my sleep. I never really found a logical explanation for that one.

Creeps me out thinking about it now. But whatever it was it seems to have gone away (ignoring my door randomly swinging just now).

OH I have quite a few stories...but most people don't want to think about stuff like that. My sister lived in an old farm house when I was growing up that had stuff going on ALL the time in and around it. I would find any and every reason I could to go there and try to find/see anything that I could. It was awesome! If you really want to read some freaky real ghost stories and such...Google Hauntings in KY and read about the old Hospital near Elizabethtown. It used to be a Tuberculosis treatment facility that was later turned into a Psychiatric hospital. It's one of the top haunted places in the country and they even have tours thru it...day and overnight. icon_smile.gif

I happened to live in a real haunted house when I was growing up ....
It was an old cape cod and there was constant noises going on at night
our little dog at the time used to get up in the middle of the night and bark and growl and back up like something was coming down the hall
and every once in a while you could hear talking outside one of the bedroom windows
when you live through it you shrug it off ... but it was definitely haunted

I was working in my office alone one Sunday. Suddenly there a noise of children playing on the upper floor , you know stomping kid running around. We are talking about a thick concrete floor, but the stomping and running are so loud and clear like it is make of wood. I find out latter that nobody was at the upper floor that day. A lady a work told me the next day , it one of those unexplained noise that happen quite often. What that I hear...I dont know.

i was sleeping on an air mattress once when we went to visit some family in houston. i was watching (ironically) some show about hauntings on TV. when i was younger, i use to be really sensitive to this kind of stuff so I could usually feel when something was out of the ordinary.

anyway, as i was laying there, i started bouncing up on the bed as it happens when someone heavier than you gets on the mattress. i turned to look thinking it was my little cousin coming to watch TV with me, but there was no one there that i could see. the only thing I could see were impressions of feet on the mattress and they were moving up and down it like it was wandering around.

this is by far the creepiest experience i've had. although i've had a lot more experiences with clairvoyance kind of stuff.

I don't have a ghost story but a supernatural one:

One summer I was working at a Boy Scout summer camp. I had an assistant working with me. One day, on our hour break, I thought if it was possible to actually hypnotize someone. I tried it on him and it worked. Well, later that night, I told other camp counselors and everyone wanted to see. So the guy laid down on a cot and I induced hypnosis on him. I took him to the night that he first played with a Ouija board.
He was at his cousins house, and we could tell when he was walking because while lying down, his legs were moving as if he were walking. Everyone was stoked and wondered if he was faking it. But who would think to fake hypnosis by walking lying down? So I had him describe the room he was in, where he was going, and who was around him. He described the room and he and his cousin and friends were sitting around the ouija board on the floor with candles all around. He began to walk again, so I asked him where he was going. He answered, "In the closet." But he never stopped walking. So I asked if he was still in the closet and he answered, "Yes." Confused, I asked where he was going in the closet. He answered, "down the stairs." By this time he was breathing much heavier and he began to sweat heavily. Everyone around us began to get excited, but the freakiest part is yet to come.
I asked him to describe where he was and who was with him. He answered that it was hot with a lot of fire and there were two demons with him. I asked him to describe them to me. He described them as one is red, the other white. They had big black eyes with hooves for feet. They were each holding him at the wrist, taking him down the long stairs.
At this point, people around me were reaking out and telling me to wake him up and that he was in hell.
I then instruced the guy to wrestle his arms free and run up the stairs and close the door behind him. He did exactly that and strangely enough, he moved his legs visorously as if he were running. Suddenly he stopped.
I asked him if he made it and he replied, "Yes." Then he started to walk again. I asked him where he was going and he repeated that he was going down the stairs. I immediately woke him.
When he awoke, it took him a few seconds to regain his bearings and the first thing he asked was, "Why do my wrists hurt" while he was massaging them!!!!!!

A few years later, I was watching an episode of Unsolved Mysteries and the episode showcased an arsonist who videotaped his arson. While taping, he kept praising Omar, a demon from hell that's close to Satan and exactly fits the red demon description....

OK, I got one. It's the only thing close to being supernatural that I've experienced.
In Late May of 1997 my Dad was dying of cancer so I went on leave and helped my Mother take care of him. He was in hospice care and those three weeks was the most time I spent with Dad since I enlisted in the Army in 1976.
The night before he died, at about 3:00am my brother and I were sitting with Dad and fighting off the drowsiness of a long night. Dad had a hospital bed supplied by Hospice and I was at the far end of it next to the wall and my brother's chair was right by the kitchen door from the living room. The door was closed.
All of a sudden we heard a commotion in the kitchen, like a group of people all talking at once with no recognizable individual voice, just that of many people.
I thought that there must be a rational explanation, maybe some visitors. My brother was terrified, I could tell by the look on his face, then he said; "go see who it is." He was right next to the kitchen door but I could see he wasn't about to open that door. So I came around Dad's bed walked over to the kitchen door and as soon as I started turning the knob, the voices all stopped at once.
I opened the door and no one was in the kitchen, I searched the whole house. Mom was asleep upstairs.
I went back to the living room, closed the door and before I could get seated again the voices started up. My brother and I just let them talk and didn't disturb whoever it was.
The next morning, June 13th 1997 at a little after 6:00am Dad had a really bad siezure. His eyes were wide open and he looked terrified, then all of a sudden he got the look of recognition on his face, then a slight smile and then his eyes went dull and he was dead.
I never mourned Dad's death, I know he was OK at the end. I miss him though.

I have lived in the same house all my life. My parents bought it from one of my aunts relatives long before I was born.

The room which I live in was once the master bedroom, where my aunts grandfather died in. One night I woke up from a sound sleep with the feeling of something pressing on my chest, but I close the door so the animals won't sleep on top of me. The room itself was rather chilly and I couldn't move or speak. After about 3 minutes of this I blacked out and when I woke up again everything was fine, though I THOUGHT I saw what looked like eyes staring at my bed from the corner. Could have been wrong though and could have all been a dream, but I don't think it was.

I had an awful dream one night last summer. It was so horrific I tried to call out for my mom like I did as a child but words would not come out.

The dream was a sunny day in the country.. There was tall grass and an old farm house that was abandons but we lived there (Dreams don't make sence lol) we were having a picnic. It was me, my sis and parents and bestfriend.

This house also had lots of old rusty cars around the place. not used in years. We made a joke about the fact that it was crazy how many cars this person had and if they even used any of them.

All of a sudden the dream changed. It was dusk and I woke up (still in the dream) in the back of an old Land rover that had been converted into a chicken coupe. I was on a blanket. I lloked out the back window and it was dusk the sun was setting. Suddenly a voice very clearly said. "Bad things happen to people here." Suddenly my cell phone rang and when I answred it the sound of like millions of demonic voices came thru the line. Some of them I could hear saying awful racist and biggoted terms.

I woke up and I was hanched over with my blanket wrapped around my head kneeling and looking down at my pillow unable to move.. I kept blinking and then I saw white and my ceiling came into veiw and I was really awake this time.

I don't know why I had this dream or what it meant but that night my co-workers boyfriend died in a motorcycle accident.

i had my own experience with the supernatural/other realm/whatever you prefer to call it.

Back in april 20, 2005, my boyfriend of 4.5 years died from heart surgery complications and staph infection. the proceeding days were hard, and i felt extremely lonely. 5 days after he died, i was sitting in my room, the door closed and the windows closed, on my computer chatting with one of my best friends, basically pouring my heart out.

as i was venting to my buddy, a feather rose upward from behind my desk. it flitted upward, swished in several directions for a good 20 seconds before i reached out to see if it was the air from the computer fan. There was NO draft or wind coming into my room, nor was there enough air from the computer to sustain that movement, because i tried to replicate the feather floating for as long as it did, and it never happened.

the feather was actually part of a dreamcatcher he had given to me in 2004. it felt really nice to be "connected" with him at that point

okay okay, I have to add an experience. LOL

The night my grandmother died we were returning from a family trip and didn't know anything about what happened. The moment we opened the front door, a praying mantis flew out of the house. icon_confused.gif And we later learned that was almost the exact time she passed away in a nearby hospital (we didn't reach her on time).

In filipino tradition, large insects that enter the house - moths, butterflies, beetles, katydids etc. excluding roaches of course LOL are supposed to be spirits of the dead and are always escorted outside safely.

    hmmm...

WOW nice to hear others have similar experiences.
I have several to relate and will elaborate later.
If you have to see a DVD of "New Orleans; the Rich and Haunted"
please watch it. I was the DP and during the shooting had some very strange experiences.

That must be a fantastic job (Director of Photography).
Where do you sign up for jobs like "Destination Truth" and "Ghost Hunters". They must need videographers with the balls to go to places like that?

I have one...not sure if it was a ghost or what.

Last year I was having a nightmare...it was one of those dreams where you're not really you, but someone else rather. Somehow me and my "friends" (none of which resembled anyone I knew) got ourselves into some hot water with a gang. There was one crazy guy who was shooting everybody, and one of my "friends" got shot in front of me next to a car. In my normal everyday life, I would not probably not hang out with people who got into this kind of stuff. Especially since I'm pushing 30.

I woke up as soon as that happened and saw what looked like a guy in a ball cap standing near my bed. I got up and it turned to look to the side (toward my shower) so I interpreted at least. I tried to tackle the apparition who at that time I thought was an intruder who had somehow managed not to trip up the alarm or alert my dog. Of course I charged right through "him" and ended up in the bath tub (the ghost coulda at least filled it up and put some bubbles in...bastard). I'm not 100% sure if it was a spirit trying to tell me something, or my mind playing tricks on me, but I slept with a light on for about a week.

Not a ghost story, but I do believe I've had an out of body experience.

I was about 12 or 13 at the time, maybe a bit older, and I clearly to this day remember being awake, above myself, and looking down at myself sleeping, hands crossed, clock reading 12 something or other.

When I woke up the next day, I felt kind of "off" all day. Then I remembered my "dream" and I've had the memory and vision of that ever since.

I do love ghost stories though, believe in them, and someday hope to experience it in real life =)

    STANDING BESIDE THE BED

When I was in elementary school, my cousin died from a brain tumor. I was never able to visit her at the hospital. On the night before her funeral, she was right beside my bed.

My bed was at the other end of the dark room, opposite the window through which a faint light shone through, so I only saw her as a silhouette. But I knew it was her, wearing a veil and all, and I was sure she was right there beside my bed looking at me.

I groped for my blanket, but couldn't find it. (They're never around when you need 'em.) So I just closed my eyes, wishing her away.

I opened my eyes after a couple of minutes. She was still there. So... I closed my eyes again.

My mom later opened the door and turned the lights on--we were going to the funeral early that morning. The first thing I said was, "Mom, she visited."

    - - - - - - - -

My brother has hands-down the creepiest story I've heard. He was visiting my grandmother who lived in an old house, and stayed in the guest room. When he woke up one night, there was an old lady looking at him. The lady had the smell of wet earth, and she was smiling. (And, no, it wasn't our grandma.)

well... when i was little i use to think i was hearing footsteps around my bed as i was trying to sleep, but whenever i looked up they would stop. I later realized that the sound was just coming from my ears being against the pillow, so the sound was actually the blood pumping through my body.
