Wisconsin has been a battleground to watch given union entrenchment and spending and its historical voting record.

You are a Canadian. Why are you so obsessed with unions in the US? Are you acting for someone else, or what is your personal motivation regarding another country?

As it stands, the US appears to be going into a recession and will likely again drag everyone else down with it. I do have an absolute interest in the economic strength of the US. Your characterization of obsession is wrong - I am just bothered by their thuggish tactics. Perhaps an overwrought analogy but if you saw someone beating a bunny rabbit or a grandmother across the street, wouldn't you object?

Please... The thuggery is all on the Republican side in WI. Attacking working people, stripping their benefits, and creating a deficit through tax breaks to corporations and the wealthy.

The article itself is a joke in that it fails to take into account Walker's largesse to his political backers, which, if left out, would have made a sizable difference in the WI budget.

In the end people will see that what Walker has been doing (at least from an economic perspective) is mostly going to result in something positive for the state fiscally, even if he went about it rather arrogantly.
