As a former biology, ecology & conservation student it's sad to see that but I'm just not surprised. As tigers become rarer, they are worth even more money dead.
The Chinese tiger is extinct from the wild, but exists in a few zoos where they are trying to "save them" (a.k.a. they are bred, then slaughtered and their parts are sold for HUGE profit). That Myanmar shop probably makes thousands of dollars from one of those skins, so it's pretty rare that any of them would give a shit about the tiger being wiped out.
