Sorry to vent, but I'm a little upset. I was HOLDING SOMEONES HAND last night on the subway ( not kissing, not being inappropriate, nothing ), and a lady had the balls to walk up to us and ask us to stop, as it was making other people around us uncomfortable. Is this woman for real? Seriously ?

Yes she's for real, alright. We had similar happen over here, though rare. One lady muttered under her breath but loud enough to hear, "What a waste."

Homophobia is left unchallenged by gays trying to be "nice", that is why people still behave like cunts. Call them on it.

Yeah, they're for real. And so are you two.
They have to be put into place- kindly telling them not to look if it vocalizes their puritanical sympathies.

There's this homophobic guy at my gym who calls guys "faggot" for no apparent reason other than being a bigot and wanting to use the equipment that they're using at the time. Once he did that when a (gay) guy was complaining about him to management. He got uppity so the gay guy kissed his BF just to piss him off. The homophobe said something like "You see he's a faggot!"

You should have said "Yeah, well, your face makes me uncomfortable. Drop dead."

At that point on the subway the subdued handholding turns into french kissing, ass grabbing, and unnecessarily loud dirty talking ... with her icon_eek.gif

In all seriousness I hope you did not stop what you were doing - and extra points if one of you commented on her cheap shoes and/or last year's bag icon_biggrin.gif

    Wow, that's crazy.

My initial response after reading the thread subject we going to be something like, "PDA among straights is kind of annoying," but holding hands is in a totally different league.

Yeah, she's a bitch. I would have made out in front of her or something.

I think PDAs are inappropriate no matter whom they are coming from.
That being said, there was no excuse for what she said.
So? You say, " and a lady had the balls to walk up ......" Well?
Did you "have the balls" to say somethng back? You better have!

These kind of things just don't hurt the individual, but all gay people. It MUST be confronted and put in its place!!! Just as inexcusable if you didn't speak up for yourself, AND US!

    So fill us in.

I don't like PDA, but if it's something small like holding hands, I wouldn't mind it. If I were in that position and found a male-female couple holding hands, I'd tell her to tell them as well.

You should probably be more attentive to your surroundings. Not everyone will accept or condone gay PDA, or gay people, so you need to be mindful of your environment.
No, he shouldn't. He has every right to hold hands with his boyfriend in public as a heterosexual couple does.

Kitchen shit! When a female gives you grief you go for the, " Should never have been given the vote", remark. It is a more salient comparison.

I get offended when people feel they have to "correct" my behaviour in situations like that. Honestly, that lady would have gotten her feelings hurt. There would have been expletives followed by more hardcore PDA because I (or anyone else) shouldn't have to put up with that mess. And it would have been done in protest, not spite...though...maybe a bit out of spite >:-)

Bull shit. If it was a straight couple holding hands no one would have looked twice, including the dumb cunt that approached him (excuse my french). You have every right to hug/kiss/hold hands with whomever you'd like in public. Those are all considered reasonably public displays of affection and you should have politely said "I'm sorry it makes you uncomfortable but you approaching me makes me uncomfortable, now stfu and get back in your seat."

I hardly think holding hands is considered inappropriate PDA

To each his own. I think PDAs are inappropriate period.
Doesn't justify what was said to him BECAUSE HE WAS GAY. (If you are going to quote what I say, use the entire quote. icon_wink.gif )
