Has anyone here seen a shift in what they use RJ for now?

I know I have. When I first signed up to this site, it was because I was too young to do anything else within gay society (no clubs, no bars, looked like a baby so any man was afraid to do anything with me).... etc... So I joined this site to feel as if I am apart of the gay community.

As time went by, I started to use it for modifying workouts and dating other men. Now, I just use it for modifying workouts because I have dropped hope with respect to finding my future middle eastern husband on this site.
Besides, I am turning 19 this Nov. 8th, so I will be going to the bar... might have to go to a gay arab community in Canada.

Anyways, not going to type my life story on here... so have any of you made a similar shift to what you use RJ for?

You are 18, just enjoy your life. When you are almost 30, then worry about men.

Did I ask you to criticize what I am supposed to be doing? I asked for your input on what you use RJ for now.

But since you think that everyone should somehow be doing similar things at the age of 18, let me enlighten you.

What I enjoy in life at 18 may be what you enjoy when you are 30.

So, stop implying that because I am 18 years old, I should somehow not be thinking about marriage or my future husband.

Do you not see uniqueness in everyone? Or is it the same old "18 year old gay men want this... 30 year old men want this"

you are in no place to tell me "when you turn a certain age, you should be thinking about X and Y"

I have my own mind, my own train of thought and with that said, you have no grounds to attack my goals and values at the age of 18 by somehow degrading them and making it seem as though I am not enjoying my life because of those goals I have.

Let me tell you this: You can still strive for the same goal a 30 year old man would strive for at the age of 18.

Seriously MrPolish, I thought you would have the maturity to understand that grouping people into categories is pure crap.

Wait, how was he NOT attacking me?
He basically just said that I should not be worrying about men until I am 30, which if you have a working mind would know he is referring to my statement about getting married to a man before the age of 30.

Also, he is in no position to judge me for my goals... unless of course, he wants to get judged himself.

No. Actually, I think you still don't understand the meaning of "everyone is different"... go back to school, learn the meaning of that phrase and then come and look at how your response is offensive.

EDIT: and I highly doubt that you were "there too"... Some people such as yourself, probably realized that they have no hope of being committed to a gay man at such an early age and decided to take the non-committed route.

Fortunately, I am unlike you in many ways and realize that I don't want to be old (30) before I can feel the pleasure of a long-term committed relationship.

    To the OP,

I'm sorry to see that your thread about the changes you see in the uses of this site has been skewered by Mr Polish's reply. Therefore I can understand your feeling of frustration.
But I can also see his point of view. He was only giving you some good advice, the very same advice I received when I was 18 myself.
That was in 1970, while still living at home with my parents, I passed former school classmates in the street paired off and pushing a pram with their baby waving his arms about. Then in 1973, when I backpacked Italy - I was 20 then - I never saw a guy my own age alone, especially in Rome. Instead he always had his girlfriend alongside. And I'm not exaggerating.
I can guess how frustrating I would have felt.
And please note that neither straight or gay is relevant to the point I'm trying to get across here, but of a relationship meant to be permanent.
In those days I actually feared that I would grow old homeless, tramping the streets, sleeping under the arch, and eventually freezing and starving myself to an early grave.
But the advice given to me stood the test of time.
By the time I was 30, not only did I have my own pad, and thoroughly enjoying my independence, but I was devoting my time forging my own handyman business, something I'm still managing to this day.
Then in the nineties I devoted myself to backpacking the world. To this day I have terrific memories of these experiences.
And by the age of 46, I was planning to fly to Cape Town South Africa, when I met my future partner. I was 47 when I married. To this day I look back at my bachelorhood with fond nostalgia.

And to answer your original question, my use of the RealJock website has remained the same since I joined a couple of years ago. I'm here to read and post in the forums.

    This.

I originally used the site as I was bored. Now I just use it to fap to KarioKingĀ“s pictures and dream that he will marry me.

I'm just a bit curious as to why you want your future husband to be middle eastern? Personal preference or just specific reasons? icon_smile.gif

I have not been on here long enough to say that there has been a shift in what I use RJ for. I've just been using it see what it may be like to be a part of a gay community.

Grow Up! Stop being such a baby. You always feel slighted at the tiniest thing when usually nothing much was meant by it. God damn, if someone really went after you I think you would keel over from heart failure. You start these threads and immediately go off on someone when they do not agree with you. So many of your threads seems to go this way. You seem to just want to make a point in your OP and then just have everyone 'qft' you or restate what you have already said, agreeing with you. You have an inability to accept an opinion different than yours. Conversation must be a bore with you. I am surprised we have gotten this far in the thread without having to read 'generalizing' or 'stereotype'- words you drop so frequently and seem to become the theme of so many of your threads. And from this thread, it doesn't seem to matter how uncontroversial and not serious the thread is, you get offended. If you started a thread about favorite colors and said you loved the color blue, you would be offended the minute someone said they didn't like blue.

Actually, that's not true. Having a preference for something is a matter on its own and I respect the fact that every individual is entitled to their own preference... so stating that "X's favourite color is not MY favourite color" would not upset me one bit.

However, the moment someone criticizes my opinion or my belief or my values and says something along the lines of "you don't understand right now..." ... that will get me fired up because he knows jack shit about what I do or don't understand.
