Bush added $6.1 trillion in 8 years.
Obama added $2.4 trillion in 30 months during the worst Recession since the 1930s.
Christian, if you're going to make excuses for Obama, perhaps you should cut Bush some slack too by acknowledging that Bush had to deal with the worst attack on American soil in history with 9/11, as well as one of the worst natural disasters in history (Katrina), not to mention the fallout and repercussions from both.
They're not excuses. They're facts.
After 9/11, Bush could have unified the country, instead he ran his reelection campaign on the backs of gays and lesbians.
He could have treated Afghanistan as a police action, which would have cost the US far less money and lives.
He could have not gone into Iraq and, therefore cost us hundreds of billions and thousands of lives.
And, while the hurricane of Katrina was not avoidable,. the outcome was. The administration could have been a disaster expert in charge of FEMA instead of horse trader, and rather than cutting taxes during two wars and one of he worst natural disasters in our history, he could have kept the rates the same or raised them to pay for the wars and the repair of New Orleans.
