Got stood up for a date last night.
Scheduled to meet at a wine bar for a glass of wine and I showed up 5 min early to make sure we would have a couple of seats and check out the wine list.

Waited for 20 min and when he didn't show up I decided to buy a bottle of wine and leave.
I texted him last night asking what happened.
A friend of mine text me later that night saying the guy was out at another bar.
I got a text this morning from the guy saying "I am sorry. Had an emergency"

I must admit, I am a little angry and bitter right now.
Why would someone make a date and not show up?
At least have the fuckin decency to call or text prior to the time to say your not going to make it so I don't have to drive across town and sit in a wine bar by myself looking like an idiot.

    AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

Boys suck. But yeah, for that, he's got a whole lot of bad karma coming his way, believe me.

That sucks. I had a guy do that to me after we had been dating a few weeks. It was his way of letting me know he wanted to break it off. I thought to myself - really, why not just grow a pair and say so rather than making plans to be somewhere and not show up!?!icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyone who would do that has absolutely no class and is a coward. Have the decency to at least call, or even text, to cancel. To leave someone waiting and wondering at a restaurant is beyond rude. I wish I could have been there to pick up the ball that ass dropped icon_wink.gif

Dudes are cowards; they deal with things via passive aggressive mind games such as what just happened to you: standing people up. Most, not all, but most don't seem to have ever grown a pair. If I'm ever not interested in someone, I tell it to their face; it represents a degree of maturity on both parties.

I suspect that he finally realized at the last minute that he'd never look good standing next to you. The price you pay for being handsome, articulate and considerate! :-) You can do better than that, take a deep breath and find a real man.

He wanted a hook-up (thus bar) and not a date (wine bar) either way you got a good bottle of wine and he got a ugly guy to wake up to in the morning...easy to see who the winner is here.

This same thing happened to me once. Of course the first thought was to schedule a faux date and not show up. But I didn't.

I'll disagree with the majority here and advise giving him a truthful answer.
You get twofold benefits: 1) you can bask in moral superiority; and
    2) you have the satisfaction of telling him in vivid language what it felt like.

I was working in a bar not long ago... had this guy in his late 30`s sitting by himself with a couple of pints telling me how he was due to meet his date right that minute but a good half hour away.... "oh no, look, he is calling me... what do i do?"

"grow some balls and answer the phone, whats he gonna do, yell at you? if you chicken out just tell him you chickened out"... my god, saddest thing ever standing there watching this guy squirm because his phone was ringing and he didnt have the decency/guts to talk to the guy he made a date with - pathetic!

Ooh, just got stood up too. At the least, it will give me something to bitch about, and at the most, it will add to the flaming black pit of rage and resentment burning inside me only to be released upon unsuspecting assholes in a maelstrom of razor sharp acid drenched sarcasm and snark. icon_lol.gif

Do not even bother replying to his text, unless it's to say, "I no longer desire to speak to you."

I've been stood up 4 or 5 times.

they all come from broken homes, and know they are attractive, so they use that to manipulate others. I fucking HATE THAT.

I should start posting pics of those to avoid for those who live where i do.
