This is NOT an advertisement....I post this for amusement purposes ONLY.
A friend of mine makes EXACT replicas of the Ruby Red Slippers... he has found a private source for the exact shoe, including toe and heel, lined in silver satin. They are made with Swarovski Crystals and semi-precious gems on the bow. He has even made them in sizes 10, 11 and 12 for the guys who want to wear these....
So, whaddya think? A good collectors item for those who couldn't afford the real thing? I used to collect movie memorabilia, and if it were 20 years ago, I'd probably buy a pair...just to have.

HndsmKansan saidSo I am about to meet up with my photographer for a first set of summer photos...I would like to have taken a series of pics prior to wheat harvest in the middle of a wheat field. The colors would have been awesome...Of course we all have our own ideas of what makes a really good picture of a person....So what do you like? icon_biggrin.gif

I think a picture of HndsmKansan in those shoes in that wheat field would be peachy keen. icon_wink.gif

Pretty scene, but old farmhouse with a wheat field alone doesn't do it. A distant rainbow on the left, disappearing into the clouds, might make the connection with Dorothy's slippers much stronger.

BTW, a "burn mark" from the flash on one of the heels. Need a softer flash source like an umbrella. And when dealing with difficult objects that contain glitter & crystal, you may even have to use a polarized light source and a polarizing lens filter.

My partner & I recently saw a replica pair of the ruby slippers, though without the satin lining. We talked about getting them to hold wrapped candies on the coffee table, or dinner table for guests. But $900 is more than we might pay for a decorative item like that for us.

Everyone spends money differently on indulgences. Some on cable TV, cell phones and service, vacations, parking passes, cars, hookers, drugs, alcohol, food. . .

Humans have an affinity for things (material and non-material) that make them happy or fulfill them.

No one has an authority to judge what's right and what's wrong. Now if it was affecting your responsibilities as a human being that could be seen differently.

So no i wouldn't by this, but I would purchase other material things that cost that much.

How about a hot glue gun, some plastic beads from Michael's and a cheap pair of shoes from Walmart?

Craft glue works better. You can find red ruby sequins in all craft stores. icon_biggrin.gif

Sometimes a girl just needs a really big size.

    Very nice

I'd more likely pay $900 for a limited print of that scene...sans shoes
I think it's in my dreams.

For that price, I would rather buy Jimmy Choo's. And also, I think that Swarovski is overrated...
