Does it bother anyone besides me that most people today can't put together a grammatically correct sentence or use the correct form of similar-sounding words? Casual writing is fine, but doesn't anyone know the difference anymore between their vs there, compliment vs complement, your vs you're, its vs it's, discreet vs discrete, etc.? Do such things bother anyone else besides me, or am I the only gay grammar Nazi?

(yes, I know there are much more important things to worry about...)

Yes, but you're not supposed to make statements solely devoted to that caveat. It makes you look like a douche bag on the internet. You have to make subtle, intertwined jabs at people's grammar hidden within other topical posts.

A little, yes. Because, I'm not sure, but I can see that I'm better than many Americans around here and English is just my second language.
But maybe they just don't try, not that they can't.

Also you'll be ruthlessly screened for Muphry's Law (not Murphy's Law) if you make a grammar nazi post.

The ONLY thing online that really bugs me is Text Speak. Makes me want to punt babies and punch puppies.

    Yes, in professional written pieces.

On the internet however, there will always be people who just dont care about this stuff.

I don't mind it if people write in lower case but text talk is annoying. Especially on online dating profiles when the guy's picture is really hot but his grammar is not...

It does bother me, but moreso in newspapers and books than online. People who correct others online strike me as excessively anal and obsessive.

"Awww....shucks. Today, my teacher taught me the meaning of their, there, and they are. I graduated and tomorrow I learn to create sentences and diagram them. Yay! "

I work in a high strong professional office with two technical editors, and I am a grammarian, so what do you want to do about it?

"Today class, we will discuss the meaning of language and why most Americans did not learn to structure Latin in school, except a few privileged pricks like me."
