What is your opinion of the guys on here who's id/username contain words such as "hotjock," "vglmuscleguy," or "collegestud?" Are these names created to get more profile hits or is it that they are a bit narcissistic/arrogant/confident?

I personally think it's a tactic to get more profile hits but I guess it just depends on the guy.

They need constant reassurance that their username is applicable.

It's an addendum to why do all the clone profiles have "down to earth, chill, masc": it's easy, doesn't require a lot of thought, lots of guys do it.

You've got to give them credit though--after many rejections by the system, they finally hit on a combination of the words
    hot
    jock
    vgl
    muscle
    guy
    college
    stud
    cool

and a numeral that hasn't been used before. icon_lol.gif

I don't know. Is using incredibly long thread titles a way to get more forum hits?

It's certainly a sure fire way to monopolize space like that god awful vegetarian thread that keeps polluting the home page.

    Is that you FTF? icon_lol.gif

Actually, q1w2e3 was probably one of the few combinations I've used that hasn't been used in a lot of sites. Whenever I use my name (and stupidly I do try to use my name for ease of remembering it), it usually takes me 4-5 tries to get the right numeral for an unused signon name.

And who really wants to be [your name]576?

90% of them aren't hot, very good looking, or a stud. It's laughable. I'm not sure what to think of the ones who actually are.

I think about half the time they have no pic, no stats and info, and nothing else in their profile. We just have to take their word for it that they live up to their name.

    Here's my thought..
If your username makes any reference to how hung you are, then you better have some pics in your profile to back it up. icon_lol.gif

Me too actually. Attraction is in the head. Or maybe I've just spent too much of my life around Italians, lol.
I've spent too much of my life around guys who don't know they're hot. To some people that's a good trait. To me, it tells me they're gonna have emotional issues every time I pick on them. Cocky guys can be picked on, and since they already know they're hot, they take it in stride and pick back. icon_wink.gif

The bolded part is what is accurate. Title could describe how they see themselves, how they really are, how they want to be, what they consider funny, whatever.

I think it's fine if the name is apt, but when someone names themselves as a stud or hunk and they are really not, it's a bit sad.
