Do women generally have different taste than gay men?

I'm starting to notice that my taste in men is a lot different than the taste that my female friends have. All of them are looking for tall guys with "good faces" and they really don't seem to care about body types at all (unless the guy is obese). Judging by what I'm reading on here, a lot of you seem to be more focused on guys with good bodies but that could have something to do with the type of forum this is. Have you guys noticed the same thing or is it just me?

No, a good face is very important.
In fact it's more important that he has a good face than he is compassionate. I don't plan on having kids, so if a guy steals candy from babies, it's not going to affect our relationship.
    Or whatever.

The real reason women don't care as much if a guy has a good body is because the woman doesn't want to have to work hard to maintain her guy. Women mostly only work out to land a guy. Once they have the guy, the women can get fat just like their guy.
A woman who goes after a guy with a cut body will have to continue working out or risk losing her guy. If fitness is important to the guy, then the woman will have to continue focusing on fitness even after she's in a relationship. If fitness isn't that important to the guy, the woman is off the hook and can give up going to the gym after she lands the guy.

Yes,women seem to go more on how a guy 'feels' to them than men do.They`re not so focussed on the physical side of life.As long as the guy`s in reasonable health and shape, other features(psychological, mainly) count for much more.

Women pay more attention to the size of a man's wallet than gay guys do.

Very good point. Women want a man to take care of them financially the bigger the wallet the more women take notice. Whereas, most gay men seem to be looking for the guy with an amazing body and face as the main criteria of attractiveness.

Gay guys and females look for the same thing...validation. Money and/or good looks are two of the biggest trophies available in this search.

What I find funny is how picky women sometimes are. A friend of mine was online dating and she had messages from a number of guys, and she'd said they were all ugly. I had a look and I thought at least a handful of them were pretty hot!

I am not sure I agree with that. That may be true sometimes, but not all of the time.

Depends on the girl. My sister likes skinny artsy dudes, which is definitely not my type. Meanwhile her best friends likes tall hairy big guys (muscular, stocky or even what I would consider way too heavy) which is a little closer to my tastes. When I was in ptown me and her would often check out the same guy. Either way neither cares about muscle or rippedness as much as I do. I think men in general are more visual and are attracted by looks more, and females are more mental and respond better to other things. This is just a generalization tho and does not hold true for everyone.

Anyway funny story. All my str8 friends tell me my sister is hot so I always assumed she was the better looking child, but last time my sister and I went out I beat her! She was into this French dude, but he was just staring at me. I ended up dancing with him for the whole rest of the nite and felt like I kind of "won" lol.

For me, a good face beats a good body any day (unless the guy is obese)

Maybe she's actually a lesbian? I know that I am way more picky about declaring a girl attractive than any of my straight guy friends or even lesbian female friends are.

You know, that's actually true somewhat, in that studies have shown women's tastes in men vary depending on where they are in their menstrual cycle. As women approach their period, it was shown that they found men with more masculine features more attractive. But right after their period, their taste in men erred on the feminine side.

Haha, I have joked actually that she's a lesbian because she hardly ever seems to find a guy attractive and she has said before "Dicks - not exactly attractive things are they?" icon_eek.gif
