I call my mom every year to thank her for giving me life and tell her that I love her. Did it 1 min ago for this year: P

I also buy a big Oreo Cream and cookie cake and share it with my classesmates/colleagues at work

I don't have a ritual, I wish I did though. The only thing I've done with some sort of consistency is a few times I've gone and gotten myself crazy ice cream that I wouldn't have normally gotten. Or I go see like 3 movies in a row.

My birthday is in January 2nd, so usually everybody is hangover, tired or broke. So usually just dinner with a few friends or just stay at home with a mega size bag of chips, that is good enough for me, lol.

I always treat it like any other day, but with it being my 50th birthday next week, there will probably be more fuss made about it than usual.

Every year for my birthday someone I've either been friends with/recently met/someone in my family will cook me chicken alfredo from scratch. About four years ago, this chick from the Phillipines I made friends with cooked chicken alfredo for me...it was probably one of the best meals I've ever had in my life.

Buy a six pack of fancy beer and a small cake and spend the day watching an anime series. This year the anime is the Guin Saga.

I talk to my mom. She usually calls me. Tells me she cant believe how old I am and that makes her feel really old. My 48th bday is in 3 weeks so that call is coming up. And I am knocking on 50's door. She will literally die when I turn 50 I think keke.

I always end up on a trip to the hospital. I'm not even kidding. Last year was the exception I don't know how.

Go snowboarding, drink some whiskey, go snowboarding while drinking whiskey, then come home and sleep it off for work the next day. Unless it's a weekend; then I can sleep in and do it all over again the next day.

I'm usually in the Wasatch Mountains, spending Christmas holiday with my family.
I go skiing or snowshoeing doing the day and go to dinner at a French restaurant with my parents and sometimes my brother, his wife, and possibly some cousins.

I usually go to an amusement park sometime before my birthday. I also go see a comedy show. I celebrate my birthday the whole month of December.

    Happy birthday!

Then continue on to whatever the day has in store for me! icon_rolleyes.gif

I try to leave the country as it's harder for people to contact you when you're not in cell range. As well..I don't go onto Facebook as it's just a reminder (6000 times) that I'm a year older. :-)

    Thanks for all the inputs.

It's not about getting a year older that puzzles me. Its about how many more birhdays do i have to wait to find my prince icon_razz.gif

I ended up having dinner with str8 college friends today, trying to network for Investment banking job. Working 80 hrs a week might pass the time faster.

Every even year: celebrate it in another country
Every odd year: celebrate it locally with 1 special person
