Do you guys want to look like what you're attracted to?

Straight people obviously don't want to look like what they're attracted to because they're attracted to the opposite sex. Do gay people usually want to look exactly like what they're attracted to or do most of them just want to be attractive without necessarily looking like what they're attracted to? I was thinking about this because I personally want to be semi-skinny, fast, and athletic looking without being really muscular and bulky despite the fact that I'm attracted to muscular and bulky guys. Here's an example of what I'm talking about:
Jeremy Wariner has the kind of body-type that I'd like to have.

This is the body-type that I'm attracted to:

A lot of male gay couples I see seem to look like twins; irrespect of the age. They're so into themselves, lucky them.

I like a lot of diversity and contrast.

I dont think so. I like guys bigger than me in height and body. I tend to go for beefy/cubbish guys with hairy chests. I am sort of just average in build so I generally like guys who are built different.

I like big built guys and always wanted to be one myself but I've realised how much time and effort it takes to get like that (especially naturally) and I don't think I have the dedication for it, so I've redefined what my aims are. I still want to be well-built, just maybe not as big as originally intended.

Funnily enough my taste in men has changed too, well expanded I guess, so it's not just the bigger built guys that I find hot, I find well-muscled jock types sexy too icon_razz.gif

Whenever I see someone that I'm really attracted to I get confused on whether I want to look like them or be with them.

Hey, it's not intentional. It just happens over the years.

No, I do not want to be a six foot man, wearing a black mask and a cape.

Nope. I like the way I look and I like that the people I'm into look very different from me.

Well yes and no... I am trying to build up into a well rounded athletic body type but guys I tend to get attracted to have better build than I would have.

Geez why do most threads always have to land up on physicality....I know the male gender is visual based but sometimes these threads can get exhausting!

I actually get creeped out when I'm in the room with someone who looks *exactly* like me which happens on occasion. I find it very, very creepy. When it happens at the gym, I literally have to leave the room.

So no, I tend to go for difference.

I am aware of the gay twin syndrome though. I knew go-go dancer who looks so much like his fiance people think they are brothers. They are both attractive (in a generic West Hollywood kinda way), but seeing them together creeps me out to be honest.

I told him "You've always been in love with yourself. And now you are dating yourself."

They got engaged one month after meeting. Soulmates (and twins).

I don't believe there has ever been a time that I've dated someone who looks like me... mainly because I tend to pursue other types lol...so no. i don't want them to look like me.

I actually do want to be the kind of guy I am attracted to, but that's mostly impossible, and I've obviously accepted that. It would require changing my bone structure in addition to adding on a ton of muscle. I am usually (but not always) attracted to shorter stockier/thicker guys with dark hair and dark features. That's quite different from me. The only thing I can do is add on muscle, which I have been doing.

The idea of dating someone actually looks like just me though is... not appealing at all. Too creepy.

No... My man is white, Irish. I'm Latin and German.

I see a lot of men who date someone who looks like them. Creepy

Not really, in terms of body type. I do like looking at dudes with muscles, but I usually date stocky dudes myself. It contrasts nicely with my slim build. I feel so protected. icon_redface.gif

Not necessarily. I go for lean, limber, flexy, and quick. Like a squirrel monkey. I also like lean and limber guys, but I'd prefer they be more on the rangey end, rather than sprite-like (like me). But I also like tall broad shouldered muscular men. The better to manhandle me icon_smile.gif

I Wouldn't mind it but no because I usually like em a bit taller than me and I've only dated white in the past... but things could change...

My ideal body for myself is not the same body I am attracted too. I like being slim and slender. But the guys I think are hot or attractive are bigger guys. I like the feeling of being protected. A big guy by my side is very sexy to me.
