Boys Who Masturbate Are More Likely to Use Condoms

A new study of sexually active adolescents revealed that boys who masturbated were about eight times as likely to have used a condom during their last sexual encounter when compared with boys who did not masturbate, Reuters Health reports. There was no such link between masturbation and condom use in girls. Less than half the girls said they masturbated, while about three quarters of boys reported doing so. Eighty-six percent of boys who reported wearing a condom the last time they had sex also reported masturbating during the previous year. The study findings suggest that male masturbation plays a role in sexual self-awareness and predisposition to condom usage. The study was underwritten by Church & Dwight Co., the maker of Trojan condoms

    Unfortunately, they all needed glasses.

I thought that this thread was going to somehow talk about masturbating with condoms.

Perhaps the study should instead show the correlation between lack of condom use and adolescents that lie about not masturbating?

"Eighty-six percent of boys who reported wearing a condom the last time they had sex also reported masturbating during the previous year."

Is it just me, or is this a ridiculous "finding"?

You could also argue that 86% of boys who reported wearing a condom the last time they had sex also reported to eating a vegetable in the previous year.

This study is ridiculous. A condom maker paid for it. So naturally the result will be xyz use more condoms than non-xyz.

That being said, I believe that guys who masturbate have a better relationship to sex in general and hence are better educated about it and use condoms when fucking. Guys who don't masturbate usually grow up in families with huge hang-ups about sexuality, hence are less educated about it and won't rubber up. That's why so many chastity-club kids wind up teen-parents. icon_rolleyes.gif

    Phooey!

Where in the hell did they find boys who did not masturbate?

Maybe the result should have been stated in terms of boys who do not lie using condoms.
