No, I value being 100% myself (for better or worse) way too much...Slightly off topic (I have a point though)- earlier this year I made an appointment for a consultation on a nose job and ended up cancelling it. Because yeah my nose might be too large for my face, but better that I know who is shallow enough to care (as in not give me the time of day because of it) in advance, than change it and find out later, that I've surrounded myself with shallow people. And its pretty much the same principle when it comes to my sexuality...

No way. Happiness is not a matter of gay vs straight. It comes from inner peace. Now if the came up with a cure for hypocrisy, I would dump a bunch of it in the water coolers in congress. icon_lol.gif

Interesting to know that a lot of guys say no

Me? maybe yes a few year ago. Now I'm fine with being gay.

I would not take such a pill, nor treatment. I think I also answered this before in another thread, where I believe I said I was once in denial, and tried to live straight. Having therefore been on both sides, I can confidently say I prefer being gay. I'm much happier now than I was then, so it's no contest.

    Exactly!
I have learned not to only accept that I am gay but embrace it. It is a part of me.

I wouldn't be the same person if I took a pill like that. I used to wish I wasn't attracted to guys but I realized that the attractions are a fundamental part of who I am and why I am. Without them I would have no idea what I would be like.

Yep I would. About 5% -8% of my life is gay but it's not my whole life. I live in the straight world and have been very successful there and have learned a ton. I rarely deal with the racial comments and emotional roller coasters that I've had to deal with in the gay world. Making friends in the straight world has been effortless as opposed to not having any gay friends currently. I first accepted that I was gay 4 years ago and am still surprised at how so many of us fit so cleanly into stereotypes. I know not everyone is like that, it just feels that way. I don't think there is anything wrong with being gay, but for me, it is just a sexual impulse that I have to deal with at this point. Maybe that will change in the future.

It would mean I would have to divorce my husband. No way.

Let's Switch it up a bit. What do you think the "side effects" of a straight pill would be?

Loss of the sense of appreciation of Lady Gaga?

Man, I can only imagine that side effects that would come with that!

    no, i wouldn't.

and the side effects would include lots of weight gain, stupidity, and complete inconsiderate and irrational thinking. just to generalize, but tends to be a trend that i find here atleast

Yes. I'd like to have a kid and I'd like my kid to know both of his or her biological parents. For that reason alone I'd take the pill.
