    A columnist's view.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/post/obamas-horrifyingly-bad-speech/2011/03/29/gIQAvN7p2I_blog.html

He was a half hour late. His head turned from side to side as if he were attending a tennis match. He practically never looked in the camera, as if he were averting our gaze. And those were the strong parts of President Obama’s disastrous speech. It was a bit like a slow-motion car crash. After a while, one stopped listening to the blather and simply watched the stock ticker go down and down. And down some more.

Of course, his supporters also seem to be increasingly disillusioned. I suspect that Hillary Clinton would have been a better President.

I would have voted for her over McCain but I did not vote for Obama. At least she had experience. It wouldn't have been a learn as you go job for her.

While I'm not happy with the president lately, the delusional hysteria among RJ's conservative brethren is really over the top.

I just wish that he would SHUT THE HELL UP whenever the stock market is in trouble, because almost EVERY time he opens his mouth about it, the stock market tumbles.

Considering that the market doubled from the time he assumed the presidency until this week, that's a bit of a stretch.

Er - delusional hysteria? It's liberals who are running around with tinfoil caps attempting to claim S&P's report is based on politics and not the fact that the US's finances are deteriorating - with any deterioration having been accelerated by the current administration that has dramatically increased the size of deficits with "stimulus" that hasn't worked.

It's just the same tired talking points. When it suited S&P to "rate" garbage mortgages as AAA, they did so. When they were asked to threaten Canada's ratings, they did. How is that not political?

And the finances are not deteriorating. For most Americans, they have been living through a Depression for 2 1/2 years while Republicans sat on their hands or obstructed.

It highest DJI was in late 07 and 08 at 14,000. Remember Obama didn't take office until Jan 20 09.

Carter is happy he is no longer the worst President of all time. Obama is "winning"

Yes. But while Bush was in office the stock market dropped from 14,000 to 6,600 in March 2009 (two months after Obama took office). It then rebounded up to 12,000 and remains above 10,000 today. icon_rolleyes.gif
