While children are dying of starvation and lack of clean water and sanitation...let's go after gay people!

Well, they need a group to blame for it.

isn't it cheaper just to get capital punisment for being gay, like they're trying to do in Uganda.
gay-to-straight-therapy seems like an expensive solution, when they can just cure us with a bullet.

I would like to point out that article cited for this thread clearly states that the gay conversion centers will be set up and administered by the Presbyterian Church and not the Ghanaian government. LGBT rights in Ghana are without a doubt non-existent; however the government does not actively persecute homosexuals or homosexual actively. And in regards to the country being a "shithole [sic]", yes, many Ghanaians are poor, but their living conditions are set to improve as the economy of Ghana is one of the fastest growing in the world. The more you know....

If they would just let the gay people do their thing, they could make Ghana look a lot nicer with a fresh coat of flat paint in various Earth tones, and maybe some up lighting.

The question that I have is why. Before doing things like this, they have to ask themselves how it will improve their country. If they can't answer that question, they shouldn't do it.
