My Debit Card Stolen

OK, so we transferred both our banking accounts to Wells Fargo, from Bank of America. My partner got his new checks and debit card in the mail a week ago, but I haven't gotten anything, though we did this at the same time.

So I spoke with our banker today, and he says he's reporting my things as stolen in the mail, and reissuing new ones. Stolen in the mail??? Whatever happened to integrity in our postal service?

The US is falling apart, like a third-world country. Thank you Republicans, for giving us greed & selfishness, instead of integrity & honor. The whole fabric of our society is tearing apart.

And not because of gays as Republicans and their supporters here claim, but because of extreme right-wing ideology. Oh well, you will see it defended here by the usual anti-gay characters.

I worked for the Post Office for many years.
EVERY business that ever screwed up, ALWAYS blamed the Post Office.
Even though I had no love for the place (and the horrible management), I have to say that we had a pretty damn good record for getting everything delivered ............................ sooner or later.

Wells Fargo and Bank of America might be responsible for a lot in the third world, but I don't think the loss of your debit card is directly attributable to the third world icon_razz.gif

And maybe I never thought the post office had integrity. Yesterday my postlady rang my buzzer and was like "you have a package!" and I said okay I'm coming to get it. I opened the door and saw her throw it on the floor and walk out. Real nice.

Edit: Also, I'm surprised you use the Big 5! They have a terrible track record of abusing and taking advantage of the consumer. Go with a community bank or credit union!

When Colonial Bank switched to BB&T, it took them THREE TRIES to get my card to me. I was furious, and almost cancelled my account. After some semi-heated discussion, they credited my account with an extra $100 for the inconvenience. icon_cool.gif

Trust me, it was probably put in the wrong mailbox. It's happened to me 3 times with USPS. One day I was expecting a Priority package with online tracking (or Delivery confirmation however you wanna call it). The tracking said it was delivered at 3:30pm but I waited until 7pm and nothing showed up at my door or in my mailbox. So i went around the neighborhood and found my package in front of a house at the end of the street. The same thing happened to a necklace i bought on eBay too. The tracking showed that it was delivered but it was nowhere to be found. The housing complex I live in, there are 2 big main mailboxes 1P & 2P and each house has its own small mailbox. Whenever someone has a package that might fit in either the 1P or 2P, the mailman will put the key to the 1P or 2P in their mailbox. One time I got a package in 1P and he ended up giving me the key to 2P. I have had so many frustrating experiences with USPS so yea LOL maybe that's how your debit card got lost. icon_sad.gif Sorry to hear that anyway

You mean you retired from federal employment and you trust postal workers and other federal employees, after perhaps being a little "squishy" yourself? I've used this before, but....it's like the pot calling the kettle black.

Did it ever occur to you that someone passing by your mailbox grabbed it? Mailbox theft is somewhat common.

Yeah, I had a friend who lived in an apt complex in which everyones mail box was broken into. They typically want birthday card money, checks, credit cards, etc.

Im not sure how you managed to make your stolen debit card political.

I am sorry it happened and its a shitty thing. The same thing has happened to me recently. You know who I blamed? Niggers.

    (thats a total joke)

I just blamed either lazy postal workers or someone with no morals....No matter what the political affiliation.

Impossible. My mailbox is locked with a key. Rather, what mail handlers do is feel for objects like plastic cards in envelopes. They pocket them, hoping to cash in. I've already canceled that card, so they can't access my account.

I was honorably discharged after 25 years of military service. We don't call it "Federal employment," which is a veiled insult. And you? What did you do for our country?

I don't know what you mean by "squishy" but as a senior Commissioned Officer I absolutely honored & obeyed my Oath of Office. Until I know your own credentials this is not worthy of further reply.

I live across the street from a junior high school, and am not home during most of the day, and the little shits are continually going through my mailbox, and my neighbors', trying to get ahold of some sort of fake I.D.s. I think that they must re-sell them. When I renewed my drivers' license, I had to request the Registry of Motor Vehicles not to mail it, I went back and picked it up instead. Some of my neighbors called the school office to complain, a lot of good that did, and the following month our houses got egged. Oh well, that's life, I suppose it could be worse. But , thank God for direct deposit.

Well, as I said, my condo mail box is locked with a key. You must first enter the lobby with a key, and then open the box with a key. I doubt it's being pilfered as happened to you.

But the mail crosses many hands, and an envelope with a hard plastic card in it (my partner got his from Wells Fargo, so I know what it's like) is very easy to feel.

And the reason I said "Third World" is because our infrastructure is collapsing. We wave our flags, wear our little flag lapel pins, and shout "USA! USA!" But if we had any kind of world perspective, as most Americans do not, we'd realize what a deep slide we've been having for the last 10 years.

And history tells us that most civilizations didn't know they had fallen until well after the fact, if then. My debit card? Insignificant. But symptomatic, along with other signs? Very.

Cupcake I am double your age survived the gay plague, and everything afterwards, and in better shape than you. This must be what you hate so much. But then you also spend so much time hating because you don't have a life either, now go find one. Oh and if one is fat. You is very ugly inside and out, and tomorrow I can loose weight but you can do stuff all; giggles.

You must not of gotten the memo, I am indeed. Sad when people have wasted a whole life in denial, just because they don't like the truth.
