    Any fans of the miniseries?

I'm sure there are fans of the original BBC sci-fi series out there, but I've really enjoyed the premise of this Americanized collaboration on Starz (suddenly and mysteriously, NOBODY is dying, at least no previously mortal humans) and the suspense is intentionally cheesy but entertaining.

The bisexual co-lead of Captain Jack makes for fun storylines, and the Gwen Cooper character is badass when she wants to be. I've always hated the surly Mekhi Phifer but he is perfectly cast for his CIA role. Bill Pullman and Lauren Ambrose are also great adds.

I love this season. I didn't think they follow-up to "Children of Earth" with a good story, but the writers and producers did!

I'm loving it so far icon_smile.gif

Torchwood has never been afraid to go a little dark with their story lines and this season is no exception!

    Can;t wait till next week

    Love the series.

Love anything remotely related to Doctor Who!!!

I love the allusions to Doctor Who because I was worried they would "retcon" Jack's association with the Doctor. Plus, I think the mini series format fits Torchwood better than the weekly, normally stand alone, monster of the day serial.

Since they started to make full episode mini-series (from season 3 i think), torchwood is way better than before! Just love that serie, Jack is hot and Gwenn quite badass! just missing Ianto a bit :-(

Just watched episode 5... OMG- so dark, I love it. I'm watching season 1 with Dan. He never watched it. He was about to drop the series until...

    SPOILER!!!

I mentioned Ianto and Jack get together later on in the series. Now he's trying to catch up.

While watching season 1 again, I realize how far they've come in developing the series. The whole cyborg woman thing in episode 3 was so awkward....

The whole season 1 is pretty awkward i would say,

After season 3, which seemed to be the last one.... i bought all the dvd (yeah yeha pretty cheap here anyway) and though season 1 was quite boring actually!
I am so glad they changed the concept for these big plots like in season 3 and 4

There is 10 episodes in season 4, hope it will be even darker icon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gif

I knew they were going to do a gay sex scene with Jack since they announced that Starz was going to air the mini series. Spartacus signaled that Starz was the premium channel that would not shy away from male nudity.

I've really liked it so far-- it's also good to see Lauren Ambrose on tv, she needs to be in more things.

Also the ending of the last episode was so fucked up with the doctor lady- i was starting to like her icon_sad.gif

I saw that BBC toned down the on-air flesh on their airing of the episode in the UK being that they're a public network channel, which is fine I guess. Still, the angle they used for that scene ("why do I need a condom anymore?") was awfully good.

I love the show and I'm kind of sad Phifer is always cast as a hard ass (he was actually really likable on 'Lie to Me', but then again Tim Roth plays a perfect asshole.)

That being said, I wish there was more interaction with the overall Whoniverse. But it might make sense for the Doctor to not show up if my theory is correct. The whole reason why Jack was immortal is because when one of the Doctors companions was possessed with all the power of the TARDIS and Jack died she reanimated him, but as a fixed point in time in space. So now he pretty much always exists, no matter what. The thing is the Doctor and TARDIS have an ALMOST hostile reaction (though they like Jack) to fixed points in time and space because both are (as the 10th doctor put it) "wibbley wimey timey wimey stuff". In a sense Jack is an unchanging stone in the river of time

so far i've enjoyed it. glad to see that jack is still interested in men. RTD is really pulling out all the stops in this series. emotionally, it has been a roller coaster of a ride, but enjoying it just the same. cannot wait for the next installment of doctor who coming on the 27th to bbc america!

I love John Barrowman. He's just so frickin sexy. About as perfect as a darkly handsome actor can be. And it's sexy when he talks in interviews in his native Scottish brogue. Too bad he's taken because I would lock lips with him anytime.

The BBC haven't told us when it returns over here (UK), they just say coming soon. Please, if by some fluke you get it 1st, no spoilers.

It's nice to see that people like miracle day so far, but one quick correction:

Jack harkness is an omnisexual: if it has a postal code, he'll fuck it.

Other than that yeah, good series so far, and I'm looking forward to next week's episode icon_smile.gif

The BBC's announced when the UK gets series 6 part 2 - about 8-9 hours before America does.
