So I've been talking to this hot dude online. We haven't met in person. About a week ago he started asking if I had a dog. Nothing unusual about that. When I say I have 2 dogs, he starts asking more and more questions...like wanting to know how big they are and if they sleep in bed with me. Then he asks if they ever try and hump me. At this point I know where this is going so I play along. Basically this guy wants to come over and fuck my dogs! If you know anything about me at all, you know I'm a huge animal lover (but not in that way.) I view domesticated dogs as innocent children, so the thought of this guy fucking one of my dogs makes me livid.

This is what I KNOW I'm going to do: Regardless of if I decide to report him or not, I plan on scaring the shit out of him so that I feel like I've done something to make this asshole think twice about hurting an animal. One of the pics he sent me is him in his work uniform with his hand covering up his company logo on his shirt. However after blowing up his pic, I can see the stack of company letterhead sitting on his desk which matches the bit of the patch I can see through his fingers.

My question for you is: Do I report him to the police? I feel hesitant to do this because I know it could ruin his life. I'd appreciate your feedback.

Tough one. Maybe telling the guy you know his sick twisted mind and if you ever catch him trying to do anything with an animal...you'll turn him over to the police!

If you have to ask the question aloud, then no.

So, he is still hot in your mind?

    But the question is... can you prove without a reasonable doubt that this is what he wants to or intends to do? I can't say I've heard of many people wanting to do that... 0_o;

omg lol are you for reals? I thought that stuff is urban legend.

I mean I know it exists but still....to hear that someone actually knows someone is still icon_eek.gificon_eek.gif

if you're for reals, yeah report him to the appropriate authorities.

Screen cap ALL messages he sent to you from the very beginning.
Print that, and his picture that he sent you.
Back up everything across multiple sources...off-site as well (FTP, etc).
Report him to the authorities, and send your evidence when asked.

I could be mistaken, but unless he's actually DONE anything and you can prove it... there isn't much you can do. You can report him, and share the communication you've had with him with the authorities, and likely the most they can do is just keep a record of it. Its not illegal to talk about it online to some stranger you don't know.

Either way the guy is a total creep-- and eventually will get his come uppance.

Set up a sting op like on 'How to Catch a Predator'. It will scare the sh!t out of him and the cops will catch him mounting your dogs...well, hopefully before he mounts your dogs.

I can only imagine what drew his attention to you. A search for "...dog", "...puppy", er, "...pup"?

Report him, but don't alert him. Put it in the hands of the authorities.

    It's definitely not urban legend!

I got no love for Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County Arizona, but the only good thing he does is go after animal abusers like this. The sheriff's office sets up sting operations on Craig's List and bust the guys when they show up.

    Edit: News story link

ok, i'm going to be in the minority here, but i say don't (but for reasons you're not thinking about).

    1. you have no proof this guys is actually into animals aside from talk. i know plenty of pervy guys only who get off to chatting about taboo shit, but don't actually seek it out. would you arrest someone for rape fantasies?

    2. you have no evidence (that you posted at least). conspiracy to sleep with an animal is not a crime to my knowledge. essentially you're offering no crime and just are freaked out (validly so). what are the police supposed to do about a guy who has thoughts about banging your dogs if he hasn't broken any law?

i'm actually more perplexed by your stringing this guy along. the dude is obviously sketch. so why feed his fantasies and put yourself in this situation? this weird sort of vigilantism is creepy. have i been approached by guys into k9, scat, fisting. yeah. is it my thing? not really. that's why i say, not interested buddy and block people.

and for all those catch him in the act responses, that's called entrapment. it's a major problem with those to catch a predator shows. you can't legally convict people and they get off scott free.

This is where I'm (and probably anybody you might report to would be) lost. Reporting that a guy asked you whether your dogs sleep with you in bed and if they like to try to hump people is not a criminal offense.

For the part that comes after the word "Basically," was this something he stated to you, or is this just your inference? What specifically did he say?

And how did you "know where this was going" when he asked if the dogs try to hump you? Where did you think "this was going" before you "decided to play along"?

DON'T do it for the simple reason that law enforcement will point the finger at YOU for having anything to do with the guy. Stop talking to him and block him.

You have nothing to report. He didn't commit any crimes. The cops cannot do something about someone musing about committing a crime.

If you call the cops, you will be sorely disappointed.

As someone who`s always had pets, this sickens me to my gut,but I think the best course of action is to stop talking with him and block him.Don`t play any games 'scaring the shit out of him',etc. You have no evidence against him, you`ve chatted with him more than once,so it`s all circumstantial as far as you`re concerned. At most, tell him you`ll report him if he persists contacting you.

Even if he eventually gets fucked by a someone else's dog, it might not be a crime in your area http://www.animallaw.info/articles/ovuszoophilia.htm
