If "corporations are people" is going to be the Romney 2012 campaign slogan - Romney is going to get his ass whipped big time.

Because people own and have shares in corporations and the money eventually goes to people - d'oh. When corporations fail, the investors fail and so do the people holding the jobs. Is that really hard to figure out?

He was very correct when he said:

""There was a time in this country where we didn't celebrate attacking people based on their success. We didn't go after people because they were successful..."

How true. People voted overwhelmingly for the climate of becoming successful, which is capitalism, not necessary to get some personal gain or money out of someone.

Then they realized that these people becoming successful were doing so through dirty, unethical means. They realized these "successful" people were really only about greed and power.

Mock, all those people working for the corps have their vote, pay their taxes and are free to donate to any politician of their choice. but none of those people make an entity we call a corporation another person, a corporation is inanimate, it has no feelings, no heart, cannot take action or react. so it is not a person.

People that work for the corp, get to speak for or donate to what they themselves believe in. Treating a corp as a person basicly gives a few people in the corp the chance to speak twice, once as a private individual and then again as this 'new corp. person'. It should not be the case.

As for Romney saying "there was a time ... where we didn't celebrate attacking people based on their success", unless something someone said at the question forum where he was speaking spurred him to say that, I don't who he is referring to. Going back to tax rates prior to bush cuts for the wealthiest of Americans is not an attack on the successful,. niether would it be to do away with tax exemptions, tax shelters and Corp subsidies.

Corporations might be owned by some type of humanoid-looking entity, but they're definitely not people.

What is meant by that, which is apparently not comprehensible to some of you, is that not only do corporations provide jobs, but the corporate shareholders consist directly or indirectly of average folks who have, if you'll pardon the dirty word, a portfolio containing stocks or a pension plan partially funded by stocks. Union pension plans also have stocks. Did you know that? The folks are hoping their portfolio and pension will help them through their years of retirement. I realize some of you don't care about this because either you never had the discipline to save or you are hoping your government will take care of you not only during your working years, but after you stop working. [Can't believe I even bothered to respond to the increasing amount left-wing crap posted here. Cutting back, but sometimes hard to resist when there is so much total BS.]

Oh, so let's punish everyone because of some phantom idea that some people are making their money unethically!

You made no comment relevant to the discussion, at all. We are talking about how corporations are not people and how Mitt Romney is a dumbass.

We are not talking about stocks and portfolios and whatever else you tried to twist this into.

    Some phantom idea? You're delusional.

There's no point in having a discussion with you because it's apparent that you are going to skip truths and facts and head straight to fringe extremist.

If you have a legitimate suspicion that someone is making their money legitimate then spill it. Generalizing that "rich people" make their money unethically is ridiculous. Even you can't deny that.
