I know a lot of Gay Straight-acting people, but there's this one guy at work that says he's straight, but a lot of my coworkers see him act gay, such as how he holds stuff while talking to people. So the question is does Straight Gay-acting men even exist?

Personally, I think they are rare as hen's teeth. But as ZDFO says, only the guy himself ever knows for sure.

How do all gay guys hold stuff as opposed to how all straight guys hold stuff?

All the world is but a stage ...

    Pride this week-end,
    so many costumes,
    so many strangers,
    so many possibilities!

Acting makes the world go round.

This one's too obvious. If he's gay, he's holding another man's dick...possibly in his mouth.

"straight-acting" LOL. How straight can a gay man act? Seems like an oxymoron to me.

Yea I work with a guy who is extremely comfortable with his sexuality and there is no doubt in my mind that he's straight but if I didn't know him I would totally think he's as queer as a 3 dollar bill.

The only way to know for sure is to do a sexual litmus test (i.e. The Dyckinmuth test) Otherwise the straight acting gay men could be just straight acting straight men, and the gay acting straight men could just be gay acting gay men. You might still have straight acting gay men and gay acting straight men, but I believe there would be far less gay acting straight men if only because of society's prejudices against gay acting men in general whether straight or gay.

I don't really understand the question. Gay and straight are forms of sexual orientation. You can't see if a guy is gay, bi or straight unless they are in the act of having sex. IThis is why some people are so confused by what "straight acting" means.

In terms of Masculine/Feminine, people are characterized by how they behave along the following:

    Mannerisms
    Physical Attributes
    Emotional Attributes
    Gender Identity

Someone who is masculine would be on the masculine side of all of these (whatever they mean to you). Typically, people make assumptions, judgments based on mannerisms and physical attributes which causes conflicts because you can have feminine mannerism but with a very physically male body (gym queens, for example).

This quote is just so wrong, lol :/ Is there a universal way that Gay people are supposed to act? We have a rainbow for a reason, because Gay people are as different as any other demographic group. Just as straight guys don't all act the same why would Gay people? It's just a lame comment, sorry not a personal attack on you. Just something to think about next time you use the term 'straight' acting...how about maybe using masculine acting? That might be more appropriate...just saying.

I never took acting classes, so I just be myself and leave the acting to the actors.

I've come across more than a few straight guys who I would have bet money that there's a lil gay dude inside waiting to come out. Not just behavioral patterns either, but tastes. One guy at work is a fan of Lady Gaga and Spice Girls. On the other hand I love Deftones and Creedence Clearwater, so who's to say if that should define a person?

    Anybody can have "feminine" qualities

It's all about society's perception of what is "manly"

    Doesn't mean he's gay.

Yeah, I have a bunch of them as best friends.

Jeremy is one of the most gayest straight guys ever. He's very impressionable with the ladies, too
