What kind of music do you listen to? What type do you prefer over others(if any at all)? Prefer any specific era of music over another?

While I am pretty eclectic when it comes to music, I can listen to Vivaldi on second and switch to Ramstein then next, I really love the music of the 80's. Maybe it's because I grew up with all those songs, but there's just something about the way the music sounded that always makes me happy.

I listen to everything from The Melvins to Madonna.

My new find (thanks to her cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit and OW's fawing) is Patti Smith.

My favorite music though? Anything with passion.

My favorite type of music (though I like lots of types of music) is preclassical, AKA Early Music.

I'm about to bring out the music nerd in me but I love big band jazz. Like Stan Kenton and Rob McConnell stuff. I love music that you have to sit down to listen to. People in groups always hate my taste in music because it's either too heavy for light conversation or just plain nerdy.

Video game music (Metroid Metal anyone?)
    Movie soundtracks
Broadway soundtracks (Wicked! I just saw it today!)
    Concert/Marching band
    Trombone choirs and solos
    Brass bands
    80s pop
    Various current popular music

My family loves country so I've built up a tolerance to it but most dance music is lost on me and rap is not worth losing my hearing over and yes, I will blast Beethoven and Mozart in my car sometimes.

For me, the type of music I listen to depends on the time of day. Each night, for instance, I fall asleep to the beautiful classical music that is played on my local public radio classical music station (99.5 FM, Minneapolis-St. Paul). If I had a boyfriend sleeping with me that habit might be one that I would have to change! Only time will tell.

Mostly still listening to the stuff that was playing on the radio when I was a kid and a teenybopper (back in the 1960s and 70s); so we're talking Motown, the Beach Boys, girl groups, Ray Charles, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Sam Cooke, the Mamas & Papas, the Beatles and Stones (of course), etc. I'm a classic, and so's the music I listen to. icon_smile.gif
