Have you ever met a RJ'er in real-life? If so, who and how did it go?

I offered to host Red_series and his boyfriend at our home over the weekend. He's down here looking at a grad school and checking out Portland. He and the BF arrived yesterday and are even nicer than expected -- furthering my opinion that there's no such thing as a mean (or ugly) Canadian.

So, I am curious... how many others have made friends here that you've met in-person? How'd it go? How far did they travel? Are we using this tool to strengthen our community and expand our social circles? Would you feel comfortable hosting a RealJock.com friend in your home?

I haven't talked to many folks on here, but I did end up meeting a guy (Yelsew) for lunch. Really cool guy, didn't have to travel too far to meet as we both go to the same school, just in different fields. We're both heading our separate ways in the next month or so, but i am hoping to keep in touch in the future.

So all in all, if my other interactions go as well as the first, i wouldn't mind hosting an RJ member if need be.

Well, I met a guy from Alexandria, VA while I was there....don't recall his name though, he was a tad bit rude to me I thought. After buying him dinner, wouldn't even open the car door for me...certainly not a gentleman! LOL Just kidding, supper nice guy. I have not laughed so much in years. It was the infamous kitty posting Caslon!!

Great man, with a great sense of humor. It's been fun developing a friendship with him.

I know a man from RJ. He lived in Dallas before moving to another part of Texas. Thought he was a friend but he was not. Better off not knowing him. Prefer not to name him on line.

Wouldn't mind meeting Mickey... He's just so sexy.

Anyways... I did meet one guy from RJ here in AZ. We ended up meeting at a western dance place. His mother and uncles were there and we all had a great time. The thing that I like most about the guys on here is that most don't seem to be looking for a hook up. Which I like.

Not yet, but I hope to someday. To be honest ShawnTO looks familiar so I have probably seen him in the Toronto gay community at some point.

I've met two guys from RJ.

One lives in NYC, and I've been up to see him a couple of times (he's no longer on RJ; he's become one of my best friends).

The other is RunintheCity - we met recently while he was in DC for work.

I might meet up with a1972guy while I'm in SF this week, and there was some talk in a thread about meeting up at some bar with a couple guys from here on Thursday evening:

I have chatted with a few really nice and attractive guys here but alas, they are all far away so we haven't met.
Of the two local guys I DID meet, one was an invite to our volleyball club.... haven't seen or heard from him since and the other was a nice guy but no "sparks"

I am always happy to meet guys for coffee or to show them about our volleyball club
and to chat with people about anything.

I run into sickothesame every now and then about town. I haven't seen him in a while now, though, so I fear he might have been lost in a snowdrift this winter. Or possibly (okay, more likely...) under term papers.

...and your winter is still lasting, I've heard, so you may not hear from him for awhile. My partner's parents live in Newport and still have 2 feet of snow.

I think I've seen http://www.realjock.com/profile/?id=111253 at my gym, but not completely sure.
